Car: 1999 F355 Spider Long story short, my interior was disassembled (by someone else) several months ago to refurbish all of the sticky components. I put the car back together over the weekend. When I went to put the radio back in the car I noticed a two-prong plug coming out of the radio wiring harness and couldn't find anything to plug it into. Any ideas where it goes?
I don't recall the brand offhand and the car is in a garage across town. It is the model with the flip-down face and a tape deck behind it. The car also has 6-disc changer under the hood FWIW...I didn't know there was more than one head unit available for these cars.
Probably something not being used like the wiring for an electric extending antenna or a separate signal for a subwoofer amp. You'll need to get the make and model # of the stereo unit, then Google for the appropriate operating manual. Most manufacturers have extensive listings of down-loadable manuals for their products. That's where you should find the answer.
Recentlly when I installed my new stereo I posted the complete wire circuit for the factory wires - I'll see if i can locate the post. EDIT, here is the thread http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/348-355/405134-355-radio-wiring-diagram.html
+1, there are all kinds of extra connections for sat radio, Bluetooth, and various add ons...I wouldn't worry about it until you figure out you lost a function.
I think it might be the audio interrupt wires - these mute the radio when you get a call on your "car phone"
