I was just driving and turned my air-con fan up and it died. Everything went out no clock or anything related to that panel. I then thought the 30A fuse under the bonnet hmust have blown. BUT it hasn't! Tried turning it on and off but still dead. Looks like the fuse holder has been changed in its life as in-line wires have been soldered and insulated.

Is there another fuse or what should be my next step in finding why no power?

Any help will be much appreciated especially as its 30 degrees for a change!

    Thanks

    Tim

I looked at the fuses under the bonnet by suspension and found fuse 8 (25Amp) blown- this was meant to be the horn fuse but the horn still worked. I replaced it and still nothing! fuse 9 was cooling fan capacitor for a/c fuse but that was ok.

Possibly still an issue with the 30A fuse. It might LOOK OK, but check it with a test light to make sure you actually have power at both sides of the fuse.

Next thing to check would be the multi-pin connector on the back of the climate control panel. It might not be plugged in correctly. Unplug it, plug it back in, and see if the system comes back online.

    Thanks Miltonian,

I have been looking on-line to see a definitive picture of the exact fuse everyone is going on about and I dont know if I have found it!

I have 4 relays, one does not have a fuse in and that seems common on other pictures. I only have 4 relays and all other pictures I have found have 4 one side and 2 across on the other side of the area.

Do you know what actual fuse it is! I see brown wires on all the pics. I only have fuses in the red wires? I am unsure of this exact fuse, is it the 30 A which runs off the L/H relay? And what are these relays for? Anyone know?

    Thanks

I think on my 348 the A/C fuse has sort of pink/orange wires going into it. You have to look pretty carefully down in there. I don't know all the relays in there, but one is for the A/C clutch engagement, and one is for the fan that cools the condenser in front of the right front wheel. Both have a green wire with a white stripe going into them.

If you want I have a control module from a 96 355 that I've been thinking about selling. If all else fails I could send it out to you and you could plug it in and see if it works for you. If it does and you want to keep it, I am wanting $500. It is sticky but I have a new overlay panel so it can be rebuilt. If it doesn't then just send it back. It came from a friends car a few years back he replaced all his sticky parts.
