IMHO : maybe pull the cooler pipe on your very first oil change in case the PO neglected the car or it was sitting for a while. But that pipe wasn't designed to keep going on & off. Leave it alone.

If you change your oil regularly, don't worry about 1qt in the system.
If you drive in detrimental conditions, just change it more frequently.

As someone who has done several 355 oil changes, I cannot imagine this would be a practical solution. You'd wind up with half a gallon of used oil on the top side of the undertay. A nightmare for sure.

If the hose is the lowest point in the system couldn't one just disconnect it and drain all oil via that hose? Would eliminate the need for removing trays, etc.

Not sure actually. I imagine you would have to isolated places where the oil would hide in a none running state. In the sump, where the oil drains to from the oil tank when not running and in the oil cooler where this extra quart of oil is hiding that requires line removal to completely purge all the oil.

Maybe saying it is the low point in the system is technically inaccurate. There is oil that sits in the oil cooler/line than would have to travel upwards and against gravity to drain out the oil tank or sump when both plugs are removed. The same would probably be the case if you just removed the oil line. You would have oil in the tank/sump that would need to travel upward to find it's way out of the system.

Keep in mind this is not fact, just me thinking out loud.

I'll find soon enough as I'm getting ready to my first oil change in my new-to-me 348.
