I know they are two different animals...i'm just curious which one is more desirable for driving pleasure and long term investment? Please give your comment... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I don't know about investment, but the 4.0 is something else. The prices have been steadily rising (with some having sold for over 300K mark recently) but that is ancillary to the ownership experience. Here is mine: Image Unavailable, Please Login
+1 The GT3RS 4.0 is a instant classic. Everything about it is special, AND it's a six speed manual. The last manual GT3 Porsche will ever produce.
3.8s are increasing in value as well. For the sake of value retention and maybe asset appreciation a gt3RS 3.8 or 4.0. Find one that has the same specs as the cars Porsche used for their initial marketing. For the 3.8 Grey/ Black with the red decals and the 4.0 in white. Current poster cars = future collectibles.
To be honest I think any generation Mezger engined RS and non-RS GT3s will be collectibles in the future. I can't get my mind of a non-stickered 997.1 RS, looks so purposeful (and clean)! My pick. I believe it was an option. I didn't want it because it adds 17 pounds but the dealer I chose to configure the car with ended up losing my business and I had to get what I could.
I spotted this one over the weekend. Very nice shape. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

OK, I'll be the odd ball and choose the GT2 RS.....A proper turbo'ed car is what I think of when Porsche comes to mind.
