It's an Infinity. Haven't you seen those commercials where they are asking "Vettel" for directions through a Spanish town.
Latest update is, that by August half a billion $ will come from Russia to the Sauber team. Their condition: A new team manager, no names yet. Kaltenborn soll weg! Russen zahlen Sauber 470 Millionen ? Formel 1 ? Blick
There's a thought.... However, isn't he still persona non grata? [I thought he got a lifetime ban?] Obviously, "lifetime" in F1 terms is debatable, particularly if the Russian money men want him I guess.... Aren't Peter & Bernie pretty close? Cheers, Ian
Russian money....only the first of the demands to surely follow. Sauber is now going to be reshaped/disappear....sad.
This could be said for many current sponsors. I am for market forces making this determination. If customer protests were loud enough or numerous enough the teams would refuse tobacco money because the consumer demands that they refuse tobacco money. What's next . . . when F-1 comes to New Jersey, we will see soft drinks banned from sponsorship because they contain Fructose? This is political correctness, which is wrong.
Don't confuse my hypothetical with wishful thinking. Personally, I'd prefer Miami -- at least street races have been done in Miami.
Just speaking of Sauber, I got sucked into a bunch of their Youtube videos--this one is the evolution of their F1 steering wheel. Tech Bites: Evolution of F1 Steering Wheels since 1993 - Sauber F1 Team - YouTube
It ain't over till the fat lady sings: According to German "Welt" (a serious newspaper) the Russians haven't come up with the $ yet.
Unfortunately, it seems that this is true (the same story today communicated also in the swiss media).
