    Hi All,

I have a 1996 F355 Spider, 6 speed manual, US version, originally sold in California. I purchased the car used back in '09, and the car is complete with the exception of the original literature (owners manual etc)

So.... I'm trying to figure out exactly (if at all possible) what would have/should have come with the car when it was sold. It was made in December 1995, and first sold in California between May and July 1996.
From what I can tell, the owner's manual would probably be 1046/96, but maybe it was 970/95?
The consumer info book 890/94 covers 95-98 models, but I'm guessing 1044/96 or 1091/96 is appropriate since it was sold in California.
The sales & Service manual could have been 1029/95, or most likely 1053/96, but possibly 1092/96 (unlikely, since this was printed after the car was sold).
    The warranty book ...maybe 944/95? 1045/96? (<I'm guessing this one), 1056/96? 1095/96?
Additional booklets are even more unclear... there was a questionnaire 972/95? not sure what this really was... and booklet 1047/96 provided instructions for the alarm system. Maybe there were more I'm unaware of.

Anyone out there have a 1996 US Spider originally sold in California with all the original literature?

    Any help is much appreciated!!!

    Thanks!

    Glenn

Mine wasn't a CA car, but matches otherwise.

Do you just want the p/n's?

thanks for the response! yes, the print (catalog) numbers and/or the ferrari part numbers (9599...) would be very helpful. I'm guessing even if your car is not from California, it would still be the same for all manuals (with the exception of the consumer info regarding emissions?)

    Cheers,

    Glenn

If the car was made in 1995 it is most likely that the books would have that print year - things like sales & service have a note of the month of going to press too by the number - do not forget that this is not an exact science - they would have just grabbed the first one to come to hand ie if in doubt go for the earliest

Really good points, grey. I was thinking along the same line, but since the car was made so late in the year....it's hard to know for sure. I even contacted Ferrari and they didn't know with certainty what was correct. I guess it would depend if cars at that time shipped from Italy with the manuals in the car. If that were the case, then the manuals would reflect a MY 1995 not a 1996. I could see the dealer possibly switching out the dealer listing book to the most current print depending on their situation. In any case, I agree with you that it's not an exact science...

No : for example there is a specific 1997 US model year handbook and that has a 96 number

    No chance !

Just go with whatever you can get with a preference for 95 print year

From what i can tell, The first USA edition owners manual for the MY 1996 F355 spider (also included the other models) was 1046/96 and printed in February of 96. There were a lot of owners manuals before and after and later in 96, the MY 97's were printed, of course. There were about 3 or 4 dealer listings for 96 and it was certainly not uncommon to see sticker overlays added to the listings as dealer info continuously evolved. However, I didn't actually work for Ferrari in the 90's so it is probably best not to speculate as to all permutations of what was conducted at all dealers at that time as to how they kept their own listing the most current for their customers.

Does any owner of a 1996 US spec F355 spider have a complete set of manuals that they wouldn't mind sharing the catalog and part numbers?
Thanks everyone for the great feedback -looking forward to more.
    Many thanks!

as far as I can tell -the manuals are mostly different between 95 and 96. only exception might be the consumer info booklet...
