Means you order has been accepted into the Ferrari order system. AND you can still make changes. When it goes 10 Red - no changes can be made in your order.
Real waiting starts when the car hits the water. Relax....... The august break starts next week, better Think late Nov/Dec delivery
My spider is in New Jersey waiting for a truck to bring it to the dealer. Been there over a week. That's difficult to take. If it doesn't move next week, I may fly out there to check on it.
That to me is the toughest part. When it's on the water, you pretty much lose track of it and forget about it. When you know it's actually in customs or at FNA, you wonder when it's coming every day. It will be there soon. They normally take 2-3 weeks from arrival at customs to getting to your dealer. Then, the dealer needs a couple of days. Believe me... they want to get your car to you. No one gets paid until you put your butt in the machine!
How are you going to utilize both a spider and coupe at the same time? Is one of them for a family member?
I bought the spider for my dad. I still refer to it as mine, but it's his. My coupe is on a boat now too. It's interesting to see the differences in "client treatment" I've received from these two different dealers. Unfortunately, I've heard similar grumblings from others on f chat about the bad dealer/salesman. Anyway, I can take some solice in knowing both exist!
I'm still torn on the spider vs. coupe, but I will try each and see which I like better. If I really like dads spider more, I'll trade my coupe for a spider. Mayor and others indicated that the spider had a noticeable difference in feel and performance from the coupe, so I'm waiting to do my own test. Thanks to the others for their feedback.
I suspect they may have changed the feel of the latest coupes too, to a more GT feel like Mayor describes. Your dad must be youngish and in good health. My dad is more interested in a Bentley. Congrats to both! Have the best of both worlds, alternate between the spider and coupe.
Thanks! I got to drive the press car. I love the feedback with the gear shifts. I thought the chassis was really taut. I know some felt there was noticeably more flex than the coupe.
I would love a Bentley too! Dad is in his 60's and younger at heart. He took me up to 165mph in his 599gtb the other week. I had no idea we were going that fast, as it felt more like 120. At any rate, I've never seen him happier than when he plays with his grand kids or plays with his f car(s). Good times for everyone.
Ok, my order is now status 90. Looks like as expected they have accelerated it out of the factory before recess.
Great news! I'm glad that worked out. Just made the cutoff. Like accelerating thru a very yellow light.
I believe the production line is halted completely, though the factory may remain open with skeletal staff. Ask the dealer about flying it in after the recess. That will save a month.
Interesting analogy. And yes I was told more than once by the dealer that the factory does not like to keep almost ready cars (status 50 and higher) over the recess so they try to push them out. When I placed my order the ready in factory date was scheduled to be Aug 29. They obviously beat that.
