Please tell me that Bieber's shields and calipers aren't really baby blue.
My calipers are rust colored. Thats because they are covered with rust. Is that cool?????? I'd be OK with baby blue.
I dont hate him just think he is a joke, like many manufactured celebrities he has more money than taste, something which is acquired not bought. Rob
You're kidding, right? The man-child is riding around in a SPERM-COLORED FERRARI. With baby-blue accents that 'used' to be in Italian tri-color. "I think you got some on your chin, hipster...might want to wipe that off."
I dunno, I guess I'll just never get the appeal in it only being red, and if it's anything else but that, it's tainting the name of Ferrari. And more money than taste? What does his musical talent have to do with his taste in cars? They are completely different things. Good for him though, breaking the mold.
Give the kid a break. The Germans just quarantined his monkey. The idea that anyone can go through what Biber has and emerge whole is foolish. The least of his issues is the color of his shields.
Its not that its not red, many of us here have non-red Ferraris, myself included. Its the defamation of the shield that bothers me the most. Have the baby blue all over the car if you want, but the shield, if you are going to have it on the car, needs to be the original color. I would say the same thing about a Corvette painted with the US Flag the wrong colors - it just doesnt fit. But thats my opinion.... PDG
Dont get me wrong, I was a musician and was not commenting on his music but on his taste in cars and or style. Elvis put chrome wheels on his GT4 and had yellow naugahide couches. I still thought he was an accomplished entertainer. I guess I am more of a classic guy more in line with Eric Clapton's taste in his one-off Ferrari.
Hi, With permission from Gaggi's list Shah dIran: 1957 410 Super America coupé Pinin Farina 1965 500 Superfast 1966 275 GTB 1967 330 GTC 1975 365 GT4 BB I think the 410 is in the US (?). The Superfast and the BB are on display in the National Car Museum in Iran. The 330 GTC is in storage (though I am not sure it was the one owned by him) at the museum, its wheels are being used on the Miura. A 365 GTC 4, apparently a gift from King Hussein of Jordan apparently was sold in auction in Switzerland and is still beleived to be in Europe. I was not aware of the 275 GTB listed above. Does anyone have any idea of its whereabouts ? Its history ? I would appreciate it if someone could shed light on it. Here is a somewhat recent picture of the Superfast the museum. How do you feel about the carbon fiber shields? I personally only like the stock colored shields as well, but there was no uproar when someone posted the carbon fiber ones. Why is that any different? Other than peoples taste of course.
Personally, I would not be a huge fan of it. I wouldn't make as big of a fuss over it though because, depending on the car, it would be generally perceived as modern and contemporary. They would not look right on a Daytona or on my 308 for example. The black on the CF shields would have more of an aesthetically pleasing vibe to it. The baby blue just has no real tie to anything other than the brakes on that car. I dont know what to do that would make the blue shields tie in or be relevant to the car. To me it comes off as just poor taste. But again, I AM an advocate of "its your car, do with it what YOU like." just to be fair about it. PDG
Well I think all shields are tacky on the street cars. And I can't wait for carbon fiber as a stylistic exercise to go the way of Disco. Like Afro's, The Monkeys and bell bottoms, someday we will laugh at it and everyone will deny being a participant. Justins car? Well it suits him is all I can say.
Still have your paisleys and bell bottoms? BTW You LIKED the Monkeys. Davy has gone to the big rock concert in the sky.
Ah, but their music lives on. The clothes are indeed dated, but I'd love to have their GTO. Trivia hijack: There were two built. When the show ended, they were offered back to Dean Jeffries (the builder) for $1,000 apiece. He declined. One of them ended up with George Barris (many incorrectly believe he was the builder), who sold it at auction a few years ago for around $350K.
Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli had a 250 GT and a 330 GT from 1964 among others. He's mentioned in Enzo Ferrari's autobiography.
I'm not impressed with celebrity ownership of these cars. The guy that spends 80 hours/week putting an idea into practice that creates a useful product, I'm impressed by that guy.
I see where you're coming from, but.... it's still a lot of hard work and determination to get and stay where they are, and some of them actually do positive things with their wealth and fame.
+1 And if they got where they are thru hard work, determination and in the process did some good, then more power to them. But on the other hand we have Paris Hilton and Justin Bieber who are Ferrari celebs. May the lord have mercy on us all.
