Who could have done better all these years?

Kimi flopped, Vettel is at RB, Massa is helpless, Button isn't fast enough and LH was McLaren's baby.

So you would say the Ferrari has been a good car? Lol, Vettel would NOT spank Alonso. I'm not sure he would even beat him. See, a spanking is what Alonso gives Massa week in and week out.

I felt that way too when Hamilton was the stablemate.

When I first heard this story I thought it was ridiculous - about as ridiculous as Lewis leaving McLaren for that useless team called Mercedes!!
I suppose it could be Alonso trying to send a message to the team that they need to improve the car and fast, however that is a risky tactic for a Ferrari driver. We don't like disloyalty!

Honestly, I think the situation would be different if he KNEW he was going to be up against someone very fast. The 2007 saga began because Alonso was probably irritated that this unproven rookie was as fast as he was, and then doubly irritated that McLaren threw their support behind said rookie instead of him. Alonso saw himself as the de facto #1, he moved to that team to be #1 and it pissed him off.

Then the Spygate fiasco broke. For Alonso to go back to McLaren after Spygate would be like you returning to your job after being caught by the boss banging his daughter. It just wasn't an option, even if he wanted to. There are many other factors to consider about 2007, particularly from the point of view of Fernando Alonso, other than Hamilton being fast.

If he knew he would be up against a star from day 1, it might be different.

Please read post #9! (Especially the highlighted part!)

Of course RB confirmed talking to Alonso's management, because they did! - about Carlos Sainz!

And by spinning what really occurred, they help unsettle one of their main rivals without actually telling any lies.

This is a classic example of journalists spotting something, coming to the conclusion that 2+2=5 and RB are letting everyone think that it is the correct answer! - Don't fall for it or you'll be helping RB with their silly mind games!
