You don't even have to prove firearms training to buy a gun the US, so I doubt this would fly.

Respectfully, I do not think this could happen to anybody because many of us drive much more carefully.

Actually many states do have this in effect before you can buy a gun.

I don't know? But, not to belabor the point, I do agree the populace at large is not getting smarter. Best

It obviously has nothing to do with the accident originally reported by the OP but I agree. I also think it's a result of how our governments and business organizations treat people. By removing all the everyday challenges that would otherwise cause people to be more thoughtful and aware of their mortality.

In their childish and naïve eagerness to appeal to people, they have shifted the "Aha!" moment in Life, the moment of discovery, to a later and higher point on the scale of risks. So that when people finally realize their mortality, they get in really big trouble.

Easy is not a good concept.

Most of us are talking about cases like these in general, not necessarily talking about this person in particular.

I agree with your points completely.

I just think in general people who can operate a manual transmission tend to have higher driving skills, they tend to have a better understanding of how an automobile operate. Just about anyone can drive a 2 pedals car, not so with 3 pedals. But of course there are exceptions to every generalization.

Kai, I never intended to say or imply "government" but the car manufacturers themselves as Ford did many years ago on the RC cars. I agree wholeheartedly the Govy needs to steer clear in these manners.

It's not the car. It's 'too rich to think' syndrome. Some people, no offense...but computer nerd types that never raced as kids...buy a Ferrari, Porsche, R8 or Maserati and have no idea what is going to happen at the first corner. The lucky ones scare the hell out of themselves and learn. We've all been there, but most of us did it at 16 in a much slower car. Put 600 hp. in play and....it's like giving a 44 magnum to a child.

You guys are being too tough. I wonder how many brand new Toyotas are involved in accidents. But this is a Ferrari and it was captured on camera.... What if this was a new Lexus?

People make mistakes. The real important thing is whether or not the people involved are still living.

Those are in fact all very valid points. But it is after all a FERRARI web site with
FERRARI FANS here, and involving one of the coolest Ferraris ever so it is very understandable.

But to your point, just 2 days ago, I saw a flatbed hauling a brand new Toyota Prius,
still had the shipping plastic protecting the trunk and hood edges and the blue goo they
paint here and there on the glass and such - but totally stuffed in the nose! Must
have been crashed off-loading at the docks by a careless care mover person - never
even made it to the dealership before being totaled.

So yes - it DOES happen to less exotic cars and you really have a good point in that sense.

Right- but if a guy with a brand new Toyota rear ends a truck, does anyone say: oh what a horrible driver. There goes another idiot Toyota driver. I just think F-Chat sometimes gets some pretty harshly opinionated posts. Why not give the driver the benefit of the doubt.

Some own Ferraris but don't actually drive them much....they're the worst offenders. My Scud was driven 250 miles a year for 4 years before I bought it. I wouldn't wanna be anywhere near that guy on the road in a car with this sort of power!! Hasn't a clue what to do with the car after such little experience!!!

Anyone is capable of a miscalculation, and certainly none of us can "predict" what the person ahead, behind, or to the side, is going to do Let's be honest, all of us have "come close". Maybe not apparent to an observer, but maybe looking down as someone hits their brake lights, or turning into a lane that someone just entered from a blind spot, or another vehicle entering our lane unexpectedly, etc. A car does not have to be powerful to get in trouble and drivers do not have to be "stupid" to crash. However, as we aspire for more "power", the odds change. For example, if any of you have driven 500+rwhp cars on the road, you KNOW you are at risk of someone running a red light, coming up on someone too quickly, etc. The more we love our cars because of their handling and power, the more likely the risk ------all things equal. Best

So these idiots and horrible drivers will only crash when driving a supercar?
Yes, sitting down in a 500hp+ car for the first time and then going full throttle everywhere is beyond stupid, no argument there. (not referring to this threads OP crash) But how big % of supercar crashes are caused by unexperienced drivers?
A lot of people on here seems to think the figure is around 100%.

Most people tend to blame the driver alone when seeing a supercar accident (just like this thread), when they don't know anything at all about what happened. For example a car makes a stupid lane change because the driver is texting on his/her phone and makes the Ferrari next to it crash into the ditch. Everyone seeing the picture of the crashed Ferrari will say that the driver is an idiot and can't handle the car etcetc, it's just so small minded imo..

It's really sad but people's opinions today seem to be set in stone.
    A+B is always = C
Ferrari+crash is always = bad driver

That formula is applicable to a lot of bad things in todays world but that's for another topic..

Nobody knows anything about the accident, but the driver is an idiot who needs a IQ test, driving course, license to drive a supercar, etc. So many people here should get a license to post on the internet...
