Quick check in....took my wife on a dinner date tonight and met up with Mark Scud and his wife. My wife's first comment upon getting in, "these seats are more comfortable than the 430...." Btw, someone help my naïveté - what is this button? Thought it was for front lift but did not activate anything? Eddie, it was great to dine with you and your lovely wife tonight. The 16M is fantastic and I predict a long-time keeper. Next time we go out, however, bring along a drool towel. Way too many folks slobbering all over your paint I think when you blasted off you activated several car alarms It sounded amazing...the next time I will bring our Scud and we can terrorize the quiet city together! (Like freshmeat in the bay area tunnels videos.) Congrats and thanks again for a great evening.
Great 16M. There is no OEM lift on the 16M and that is not an OEM button. Perhaps a prior owner has a switch for the bypass valves??? I pulled my vacuum hoses and the valves are always open.
That is a generic but popular aftermarket 12 volt button, it comes in many sizes and lighted or unlit. I use them often for automotive projects. I have seen them used for Bypass Valves, however that is silly since the Capristo system is wireless and that is better. I have seen them used for an aftermarket nose lift system. It could also be an ejection seat control, and unless you are sure which seat, I would be cautious pressing it. White 16M; stunning!!!!!
Here you are getting all these cars (congrats!!!) and totally ignore your wife's urgent need for a manicure..........
That's funny! Cuz I think she just got one done...nails all different colors lol So I spoke with Cam, and the button was for a front nose lift system. But apparently it has been disabled. Does anyone else have this function installed?
Maybe when you get it clear bra'd CNC can throw it on a lift and figure out if all the parts and pieces are there to get the lift back in service. Might just be a fuse or relay? I'm sure Damian will be able to assess that in a heatbeat. Since it is lowered, a bit of lift would be nice for navigating speed bumps and such.
Eddie and I did a lot of experimentation last night with that stupid button...car turned on, but not the engine, then engine running and finally engine running and in gear...nothing was going on anywhere. It appears to be disabled for now...suspense grows as to its true significance Does the former owner or tech who installed it wish to weigh in
So I took the 16M for a leisurely drive today....car handles amazing well and responsive as a dart. Here's a little ride and some photos...first time using GoPro Hero3 - audio didn't turn out too well: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks like a great road. Glad to see you are enjoying her. Auxiliary button was for aftermarket front axle lift. Pm me for details. Congrats!
Loved the video...pm "freshmeat" about the sound, he has got the GoPro sound pegged. That was a very close call with the two CHP cruisers outside the tunnel. I think I have seen only three CHP cars up there and all three are associated with you in one form or another! Last time was when we had swapped cars and we were coming back down. My wife got a great pic of the cruiser in the passenger side rear-view mirror...While we blocked him so you could speed on ahead. He followed us all the way down...kind of ruined our drive back to the city We aren't bitter...No, not at all! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Eddie, thanks for the ride this morning in the S260 Lotus. That ride gave me a whole new outlook on the Lotus...wow! Hard to believe the power, not to mention some amazing good looks Good choices on the "Raw Squared" purchases!
Eddie you never responded if you sold your 430 with the wrap still on... if I was in the market I'd want it with the wrap still on.
Anzir, Eddie and I had breakfast together this morning. He has been pretty busy with his two new cars over the past few days. I know he traded the F430 Spider to CNC with the wrap still on. Last I heard from Cam at CNC (one minute ago), he believes that they have not yet removed the wrap. Good luck!
Anzio, post #19 was a semi response. But yes as Mark mentioned, CNC Motors took my 430 spider on trade for the 16M. The 430 was pristine, and a wonderful car. If you're still interested in it, I can let Cam at CNC know. He'll take good care of you. The only major issue I had was a PIS adjustment by AutoGallery. I did an annual by the famous Eugenio back in February I believe. Ok some more obligatory Scud shots...Mark and I met up for breakfast to scout out Victoria Gardens for our IE meet next Sunday....ALL cars are welcome. Please join us! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Anzir, Cam has been notified and if not unwrapped yet (as he believes) he will hold it until he contacts you some time tomorrow. EVERYONE IN THE I.E., next Sunday, 8/11/13, we are meeting in Victoria Gardens near "The Corner Bakery." Saw the 16M today on Campus Ave in Upland while I was driving in the opposite direction. Very beautiful in person and congrats on the new addition!
