I've been skiing since I was 4 years old. I had to quit due to a back injury but I still have a set of his original poles somewhere???
Yup, it's a nice looking car. Much better than the Carolla model ... though I hear that car's engine practically sings opera ...
Actually the last Islero Gooding sold was #6243 my old Islero at Amelia Island in March of this year. Sale price was $137,000 including fees. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks, for some reason I thought that was an RM car. Here it is, absolutely beautiful livery with stunning presence, unfortunate that's all it brought on the day, a great deal for someone. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sX3_TBWUwyw]1968 Lamborghini Islero $137,500 SOLD! - YouTube[/ame]
I understand your position. You have assertions. I have documents signed by Ferruccio Lamborghini and Edward Scott. Let's let it rest there. Life would be boring of we all agreed about everything! You are entitled to believe that the letters are fakes, or that Ed Scott was telling tall tales. That's ok, really. Here is one thing we can absolutely agree on: 6201 is an Islero built on this assembly line at Sant Agata Best, Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sorry, I'm not familiar with that one. BTW, whats with the proliferation of 's in every other post with you? Is there a speck of dust in your eye? Meanwhile more Islero assembly line images. And look, there is an Espada line next to it! And Miuras beyond that. A Lamborghini Golden Era that's for sure. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Invited me several times ? Just aware of 1 time in Italy and I sent you a reply by email giving you even my tel number. No reaction at all. Attack ? I don't like bellobullo's who like to impose their ignorance.
Honestly, I think most people would be just as happy with a car Bob Wallace drove (which is all of them) and if Ferrucio took one off the line most days then there may be many out there with a car he 'used personally'. Just my 2 cents. John
John I agree with your general point that a car's desirability cannot rest solely upon the people who used it prior, famous or otherwise. That's exactly why the estimate is sensible considering the cost of the restoration by Bobileff. Having said that, it was not known that Ferruccio took them off the line "most days". The few cars he & family members used are fairly when known, plus a few he kept after he retired. He liked to drive the cars he made, of that there is no question. Also, if I dare say, one of the few driven by the Manufacturer himself would have desirable standing over one of many driven by the Manufacturer's Development & Test Engineer. I wonder if anyone knows whether most Isleros received the running-in (In Roddaggio) sticker in the windscreen on passenger side top ?? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well Joe, if you consider Oracio Savioli's assertion as a real testimony... he said many times that after doing the quality control (his 1st job at factory back in 1968) and checking everything was ok on the car, then the sticker was apply on the top passenger front windscreen... so all of them should get one... also my LCB member that was one of the 2 mechanics of the 1st Belgian importer SOCARIA (2nd Lamborghini importer after Foitek in CH) and Edmond Ciclet in France confirmed both they removed most of the time the sticker after the 1st 5.000 km or the 1st service !
Nuccio Bertone: Did you design this so-called 'Countach'?? Marcello Gandini: Yes! Look, there's my signature! Nuccio Bertone: Ha, I don't believe you. Your signature looks different, your secretary didn't even initial it, and your colleagues are making assertions. I think Guigiaro designed this... Image Unavailable, Please Login
while driving, Ferruccio could have these thoughts : F : I can't remember... did my secretary make me sign a statement for all my personnal factory cars ??? F : I'm not sure she did for this Espada as well... there is a while I'm driving it in fact ! F : It's not a bad idea... let's assume in 40, 50, 100 years all my personnal cars will worth more than the others !!! F : ...well with my busy agenda, I don't have the time to sign these docs... then she will have to sign all... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh stop it Bob, sheesh. Please just take the post in the spirit of jest in which it was made, will you? The date of the image is 1971 (hence the Countach reference), and the Guigaro reference was made because... I'm sure you know why Anyhow, I think it makes the point brilliantly for those with a sense of humor & timing, considering recent events here. I laughed plenty just making the post, as I suspect did others, and that's all that matters!
