Wouldn't say it if it wasn't true. $112,000 msrp I can get for $101,000. Was looking at it for my girlfriend. In person the only color I thought it looked good in was white. Although outdated a 2012 XKR would be a much better buy with a $70-$75k price and that's new leftover.

I drove the new Jaguar Type F and while it was a nice car, I found it way overpriced. I'd much rather take the same amount of cash and buy me a nice used Ferrari Spyder 360 Modena.

I'd be interested to know what dealer is discounting by 10% I'm interested in the car and have found noting but MSRP Also Mayor I think you should buy a corvette unless you already own one since that seems to be your bench mark for sports cars

Go shopping and put a number on the table you will get it within reason. Dealers will have pleanty of inventory and need to sell before the weather changes in North East or any other area where weather changes after October

Ok, bit my lip enough now I have to respond :) A jag is not a Ferrari, a Corvette is not a Jag. I respect everything the Mayor said until HP became a decision point. My ZR1 with simple Lingenfelter mods pushed over 702, it was a coffin with a steering wheel. The chase after HP was not the answer. My wife's Jag is 10x the quality of the Corvette. My Cali is 5X the quality of the Jag. I don't care anymore who is faster as long as there is performance. The F-Type is nice and the market will ultimately tell us what it is worth.

On a completely irrelevant and tangential emotion - PLEASE no more Teslas in Seattle. There has to be at least 2 at every stop light. And they always have to roll down the window and ask what mileage I get. My answer is the one finger; so is it one mile per gallon or one gallon per mile. I guess I leave it up to their interpretation.

Comparing the Jag against the last Vette -- I agree. But I'm comparing it next to the new one, not a 7 year old car.

For the money they are asking, the jag needs a power boost.

Even the new Maserati Quattroporte has a 3.8 L twin turbo V8 that gives 535hp-- and that's a sedan. The V6's are way overpriced for 340 and 380 Hp.

Speaking of the new Vette, when are they going to be available on the market? Lot of press, but no cars and not even available on Chevy's configurator. I would like to see real pricing, equipment, colors and options.

They start making them this month - actually any day now. I have a convertible on order but they don't start making them until December.

Pm me if you want all the info and how to get one. They are selling at MSRP at the main Vette dealers. Some local dealers are asking 10k over sticker.

Jag's two-seater sportster has been at the 70k price point for years. That's the niche they occupy. If you feel it's overpriced, don't buy it. Market forces will dictate their actions, I guess there has been enough of a market that they haven't felt the need to change? Or maybe they can't until bankruptcy forces them to.

The styling was good enough for me that I took a test drive (in the 100k v8 model). First time I have ever been tempted by a Jag. Loved everything except the lack of throttle blips on the downshifts. How could they not include that in a sports car with no manual mode? It was incomprehensible. Back to drooling over the C63 AMG.

There were a couple of minor styling missteps in the Jag's interior as well.

I have never liked the post-60's Vettes in terms of styling, but their performance and price points are phenomenal. Maybe it's time. The latest one looks good to me, though it's no Ferrari.

On paper, perhaps the specs aren't impressive. In my test drive, I was booting it from gap to gap and using engine deceleration and maintaining 95mph in medium traffic. It was enjoyable to drive, everything felt good, but there was no throttle blip on the down shift. Disappointing.

By the way, with all the cars that Ken Lingenfelter has his daily driver is an FF. He and I chatted a bit at the Italian Happening a couple weeks ago in Plymouth MI. He had his 599 GTO there, a beautiful car.

And I love your description of the modified ZR1:D

I think the F type looks hot. I like it better than the Cali in terms of styling.

However, the price at 100K is way to high. I'd rather buy a 355 spyder for 50K.

Evo thinks it best matches against the 911 Cab in the V8 model.

How so, the 911 cab has 4 seats, the f has 2

I would put the 911 cab against the xk cab

4 seater vs 2 seater cars are different buyers.

Not really. At least, not for a second, third or fourth car that's basically a toy. I was open to this car or the C63. Or a Porsche 911. Aston AMV8 too, if it wasn't off the pace by so much and did not cost the most. Anything really, within reason. So Radical, Ariel, etc., were not a consideration and I already have a shifter cart.

Killing baby seals is generally offensive. I assume even more so to those Tesla drivers who are self righteous enough to ask what fuel mileage someone else is getting as if to say, "I am morally superior to you because I am saving the environment". Throwing the, "Your Mom" in the mix just takes it to another level whether it makes sense or not.

*No seals were actually harmed to create this post.

Not really. If you look at price, power, and size they match up very well.

EVO thinks the 911 cab vs the Jag vs the Astom Martin V8 cab. Anyone looking at one should consider the others.

    Got it:)
I better not see any Teslas at the whale watching point this weekend. Killer Whales kind of enjoy seals - some seals will be harmed this weekend. I will post pics.

911 cab is essentially a 2 seater. Have one and to say it seats 4 is a stretch if the two passengers are out of car seats. Even boostered kids will have a hard time finding a place for their legs. It does, however, make a great place for luggage. Since there are no tie down straps, we just use the seat belts!
