Reprogramming the alarm ECM red remote

When I bought my car only 1 of the black remotes worked but the red remote did not work. After about 4 hours of trying to program my red remote with the new pin I finally got it to work. I then reprogrammed the black ones. I followed the instruction to the letter but had to turn the key on and off as per the instructions probably one hundred times before it worked. Has anyone consistently been able to do this. The reason it would be helpful is I know many owners who only have 1 or 2 key fobs. I am not sure if they all know as long as you have a correct pin you do not need the fob but can use the pin and key only to start the car. Could be handy on a trip if your fob or fobs went down.

Any of you who have your pins and are bored sometime try to start your car using the instructions. Mine was very picky and I could never duplicate it twice in a row. Maybe 1 hour of trying before it would work.
