    Yeah, I know.

But back to the relevance for this thread ...

We have that dark blue S1 Espada supposedly selling for 200K Euros at the Giro last May plus some recent sales of cars that weren't exactly top notch in the 60K+ range.

    Now this @ 195K US.

Crazy or what for Espadas? Not far behind Isleros.

    Apocalypse Now?

    Just my own 2cents! :)

These prices are doing nothing for the car. Personally, I think it's damaging. I think it is very important to get these car to stabilize. Come together in pricing. Then gradually raise in value.

These unrealistic prices are just hurting the collector side of things. "True" collectors will stay away because they will see a total instability in prices.

Now, when I say the "unrealistic" prices I mean the high prices AND the low prices.

High:Just a few years ago a car that had 120k in resto work done, and that doesn't include the price of the car, sold for 60 or 65k. I saw it, it was perfect.

Low: Then a short while later, that green with black sold for 40k when he tried and tried on ebay for 60k...that car was one of the best too.

High: the blue S1 2 weeks ago, needing quite a bit of work. 64k

Low: Craigslist S1 needing resto or just a lot of work to drive. 23k

All of this is evidence of a car that's not reached status as yet as a highly prized collectible.
It just may never happen. But it's still a unique and exotic automobile.

The Islero is doing somewhat better and the 350/400 are doing a whole lot better. Neither are particularly exotic IMHO. I like the Islero but it's a rather mundane looking automobile. The 350 is the first Lamborghini and as such deserves special recognition.

    Hey Gary,

Drive down and visit me in your yours then we can park in Newark. Then one half hour later we could take plenty of similar photos ... :D

It's been staged at least a bit if not completely.

BTW, the glass roof Espada and this one will make the perfect photographic metaphor after the bubble bursts.

I set my Flickr photos for downloading but this person has not.

Download The owner has disabled downloading of their photos

    So ask him.

    I don't know of a work around.

    Quick workaround:

    - Press "Print Screen" key (sometimes labelled "Prt Scr" or similiar) to copy the contents of your screen into screen memory.
    - Open up Microsoft Paint (or Photoshop or whatever image manipulation program you like) and right mouse click in the white work area of that program and select "Paste".
    - If you want you can then edit the screen picture to cut out the parts you want to leave just the image you need.

PM me if you're still stuck.

I'm not so sure of that. My business partner spent two years working in Saudi Arabia in the late 70's and came back with a number of photos of exotic cars that had been abandoned and left to disintegrate in the desert. He said the Saudi princes would buy them and drive them until they broke, at which time they just walked away from them. Countaches were the favorite, but I remember one especially sad shot of a stripped Dino rotting away with a little sand dune filling its interior.

Don't get me wrong, yes I think it's abandoned but I suspect the wooden window frame and truck tire were placed there for effect. Or not ... ?

I wonder if the engine is still in it? The hood is sort of loose at the front so probably not.

    In Firefox...

Go to the size image you want on flickr.

On a part of the page that is not the image, right click and choose "View Page Info"

On the window that pops up, choose the "Media" tab.

There will be a menu list of the media used to make up the page. Scroll through previewing the images until you find the one you're looking for.

    Click "Save As"

After you do it a few times, you'll start to know where the image will be on the list.
