Ok I know that this is F chat but...I was fortunate enough to have my 55 Alfa invited to the big show....and holy sh#t we took third in our class!!!!!

I am still on a high and unfortunately thinking about how I am going to get another car in and this time take first in class...it is a sickness.

Quite an accomplishment, big congratulations!! But despite the award, your car is simply beautiful, I love the Alfas from the 50s and 60s. My favorite is the boattail, but now, my favorite might have to be your car.

    Please, show it at Amelia!

    I hope PB next year.

I have always loved the older Alfa Romeos.
Back in the early '80s I had a '71 1750 GTV Coupe that I wish I still had.

    Way to go!!!

I love that color. Very elegant. Reminds me of an older Mercedes color I used to like.

The car is a 1955 Alfa Ghia Aigle 1900 CSS Super Sprint Cabriolet.

The car was specifically designed for the Geneva Auto Salon, where it debuted in March 1955, it was designed by Giovanni Michelotti.

Ghia Aigle was established in 1948 by P.P. Filippi in Aigle, Switzerland. With the help of Ghia designers such as Mario Boano, Giovanni Michelotti and Pietro Frua, the firm flourished throughout the 1950s, producing a number of one-off cars for wealthy clients and for display at auto shows throughout Europe.

The car is powered by a twin-overhead-cam, in-line 4-cylinder, 1,975 cc engine developing 115 horsepower couple to a 5-speed manual transmission (colum shift). The chassis consists of coil-spring suspension, independent in front, worm-and-roller steering and hydraulic drum brakes. The car weighs 2,205 pounds and has a top speed of about 112 mph.

She is headed to Amelia Island next.

I was fortunate enough to see your car on the show field. Amazing. The Siata in the class was also pretty fantastic. The first place Alfa was unusual, but I am not sure how beautiful it was.

This was my first time as a spectator at Pebble Beach, and my mind was blown. Each and every car was incredible in its own way.

Congratulations on being accepted, and even more kudos for getting to drive across the ramp.

Florida had some nice representation at Pebble, with the 250 PF from St Pete and the class-winning one off 1930s Buick from Osprey, among other entries. The elderly couple who own the Buick were incredibly charming. Great to see people in their 80s fit enough and enthusiatic enough to make the trip to show their car at Pebble (the fourth time they had been accepted !).
