so I would imagine on my next drive my lovely little '93 348 SS is going to not only be going on 21 years old but she'll tick just over the 50,000 mile mark.

I know should I ever go to sell her, any buyer is going to scoff at the miles and want to knock off thousands (imagine 10's of thousands) for the miles. She's darn near a fully sorted car with the usual Ferrari idiosyncrasies. Major just done 1,800 miles ago in May of this year by Jim at PSC... Yah.. I drive her.. no garage queen here. NO stickies thanks to myself and SNM. Just put new center caps on my 360 wheels and to heck with the purists, new metal fender shields on her. I do things to my cars which please me, not others. Though I try not to go to radical.

Not that I have any intention of selling her anytime soon, but who knows. Life changes on a dime and honestly, for the right price I'd sell nearly anything I own.

How did you other guys/gals reconcile your mileage/aging Ferrari's when they were going over the hill mark?

I'm pushing the 30k mark and dreading it as well! It's the price of using our toys. You loose value but gain memories.

    Bingo ;)

I'm only half-way to 50k, but like you I don't care what the odometer reads (nor will I when it turns 50k)....I bought mine to drive it, not to park it.

50 k... she's on her way to the bone yard.....Not! Keep on driving her. When I purchased my 348 it had 20500 miles on the ODO, now 3 months later, she has 24850. I have driven her 4350 miles in 3 months, and I regret I haven't driven her more......

Mine is 49,980 right now, next drive should take it over 50k miles. Unfortunately, I can't drive it until mid October due to injury so my wife will likely get the honors...

50K? phooey! I'm flirting toward 80K on mine... At which point, my choices will be to keep it forever, or trade it in toward a shiny new Hyundai Accent!

Aren't you excited about joining the Ferrari 50k Society?
Secret handshake, funny hats, access to our members-only clubhouse in the big oak tree next to Timmy's house?

I think this is having a greater impact on me than I thought.
Last night I had a dream I walked outside after an overnight trip, and the engine was missing from the car, the 360 wheels were gone and replaced with what looked like matchbox car wheels.
No one would come look at the car to file a claim.

It was all very frustrating. I think I need to see someone.. or just take the car out and get it over 50k and get it out of my system.

maybe next weekend at the Fchat does golf in Leesburg, VA.

I'm having issues too, sitting at 79275, I am scared to drive it because I don't want to see that 80K roll over... So it just sits in the garage, and I pretend its not there. Let me know if you find a good shrink who can cure Ferrariodophobia!

    Brilliant!

Ferrariodophobia: The irrational fear that the accumulation of one more mile on your Ferrari will cause it to require $100k in service, instantly depreciate to 5% of its current market value and an Italian truck driver will pull up to your garage and bill you to haul it away for scrap!

Bruce! I have pestered Dave for the GFART logo but none if forthcoming. I saw the draft once but can't find it. Do you have it? We may have to just go with it.
