I usually keep it in Sport for normal driving but while watching some back issues of Top Gear UK. Jeremy Clarkson seems to suggest that the green wet conditions settings is the daily driving setting. Tried both but haven't noticed any difference. ANy inputs

I leave mine in 'Race' all the time to reduce clutch wear. I also prefer the throttle response and suspension stiffness in that mode.

On roads that are not in good shape I have Sport mode off to reduce suspension stiffness, while carefully avoiding potholes. Not primarily for ride comfort but to reduce stress on components, not least the balljoints.

So you really think Jeremy Clarkson should know better ?!? I wouldn't care less what he thinks.... but his show is very funny :)

If you want to be a "real man" keep it on sport and turn off the ASR!

When you crumple the car though.. don't blame me.. ;)

I drive mine with Sport on all the time.

Sport for my daily drive, but on a recent trip after 300 miles on the freeway I switched back to normal and kept it there the rest of the trip.

Race mode only - Is there any benefit of leaving it on Normal or Sport mode? Seems like transmission is not much more jerky in Race mode.

On my 16M, Race all the the time and I hit the suspension button when the road surface is really rough.

When my wife is in the car I leave it in Sport mode...

Ok. Sport mode or Race mode increase longevity of the clutch?

My F430 (different animal I know) is always in RACE unless its raining (then WET), or I am on a bumpy road (Then SPORT).

Race has faster shifting and more what I would do in a 6 sp, better clutch takeup from a stop, and it lets me hang out the rear like a pro without the fear of spinning.

I never street drive with CST Off, too much risk, and almost no reward over RACE.

ive heard both sides for years...not sure what the right answer is. it "feels" like the quicker the shift the less the damage...so I wld say race if I had to guess

In my 430, I generally drive in Race mode, unless the streets are wet or temperature drops, in which event I put it in Sport mode. Why? I've heard the clutch engages quicker in Race mode, hence less wear. I have no idea if this is correct, but makes good sense to me. I believe traction control kicks in earlier in Sport mode.

I wonder too? What if it makes no difference for clutch wear, or maybe driving style has more effect than setting? Anyway, I leave it (430) in Sport, except when driving spiritedly in the mountains!

Always race mode for me, unless I let some one else drive the car then wet mode.
