    I am considering having my Daytona painted. It has its original lacquer paint and has seen better days. Can anyone give me some recommendations in the bay area.

    I knew a painter named "Brush" or "the Brush". I always thought it was an awesome name. I don't think you'll find a better name than that.

    He reproduced factory pinstripes on one of my cars, and also painted my name on my helmet. I still have that helmet, never have seen anything so good since. I think he is long gone now, he worked for Steve Mikkens in San Rafael.

    Campbell Auto Restoration in Campbell, CA (they done everything from 250 GTOs, 250 TRs, 288 GTOs, blah, blah, blah) and it is where I bring my cars to get painted. Bryan Hoyt and Charlie Potts can also do good work. While I've been to their shops and seen their cars, when it comes time for me to put my money on the table, Campbell Auto Restoration is where I go.

    Good shop. This is where I go for custom and repair work. Used to be a restoration shop. Same owner all along--Ric Donofrio.

    Depending on what your budget is Works Auto Body in Santa Clara is great bang for the buck. He has done work on a couple of my BMWs and I always see some Ferraris in there.

    I got my house paint from here, and my house is worth way more than my F-car!

    They even do computerized color matching... can't go wrong :)
