Listen to this!!! Damn that Peugeot!!! Listen to the end. It's incredible!!!. Which 275 is this? That bonnet bulge is very..... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMNc7LBlWyw]Ferrari 275 V12 - PURE Sound - YouTube[/ame]
In trying to identify which 275 GTB is in the video I came across this S1 Short Nose Competizione 07641. What's the story with the bonnet scoop? I've also seen the car pictured with a standard hood/bonnet. Pic from Sports Car Digest. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Incredible, wow. Thank you for posting. I am assuming this is a 4 cam which makes me wonder why it sounds so pure and raw? I thought 4 cams because of the tourque tube, were quieter cars than 2cams. What can one do to make old cars sound better? Without disturbing the originality of the car?
I may be wrong but I thought the bonnet bulge was too wide near the windscreen, curved and tapering to be that of a 4 cam. It could be just a completely non standard bonnet as it has the outside fasteners too which wouldn't rule it out as a 4 cam. It also has the teak dash of an earlier car? Sound wise it could have its cabin sound proofing material removed and a non standard exhaust or with mufflers removed?
Could be the car pictured in post #3, as I can't recall seeing any other 275 with hood retainers on the rear corners of the hood/bonnet. The rebuilt nose is hideous!! Far too blunt!
Great sound. One of the most important aspects of driving and though the modern cars have amazing speed they do not come close to this and other older cars for raw sound. (I just watched vids of scud, 458, F12, and aventador on the autobahn, not even close) The only recent car with a sound as raw as this is a maser gt S.
Teak dash hints strongly at a regular 2 cam car. I am not aware of ANY 4cam with teak dash (which I personally find horrible). In a 400 SA a teak dash is fine - not in a 275. Surely the 2 cam in the video had a non -standard bonnet.
Is this your car, Patrick? 6 carb? S/N? Do you know if it has a non standard exhaust and if the sound proofing has been removed?
Thank you, Patrick. Very interesting car. Originally a steel bodied 3 carb car rebodied in alloy at some point and race prepared by Roelofs?
