Button would be a mistake. He is whiny and safe. Alonso needs someone to nip at him and quite frankly the 1-2 driver setup does not work at Ferrari anymore. Worst case secenario sign Kimi for a year. He cant ask for top $$ anymore as RB was his leverage. I think Ferrari owe the Tifosi (yeah right!) to be bold after the horrendous seasons we have endured watching RB win year after year. LDM, be a man nd swallow your pride!! ;-)

    Interesting...

Also of note: For some reason I thought Button was older than Kimi, when in fact they are the same age. Probably because Button came into the sport a couple years before Kimi. We could get a good few years out of Jenson at Ferrari. A 3 year deal would work well, then he could retire at about Webber's age (36/37)

Jenson was born on Jan. 19th, 1980; Kimi on Oct 17th, 1979.
Jenson began in Formula one in 2000, driving a Williams; Kimi in 2001 driving a Sauber.
After Mark Webber retires, they both will be, at 34, the oldest drivers on the grid.

That's what I read here this morning as well: everything is ready & both parties are in agreement, the only "slight thing" missing is signature, which should be done in the coming days...

I also read today; forget where; that McLaren has only offered Button a 1 year deal, with an option for 2015. He wants a three year deal....very interesting....

I hope there's a good reason McLaren are taking so long to resign Button. That they recognize their weak driver lineup. Taking Perez instead of Hulkenberg was foolish the first time around, here's their chance to right it at least partially. Button's not any good for development, and he's certainly not one of the faster ones. And would be expensive compared to Hulkenberg. They might just be waiting in the background to see what shakes out with Ferrari.

They took Perez as the Vodafone sponsorship is gone after this season, and word is that Telmex will become the primary sponsor.

If both KR and JB are on single year contracts perhaps a switch is in mind between McLaren and The Scuderia if things don't work out so well 2014.
