I get "how much did it cost" a bunch. The perfect response I actually got here on this forum was "4 years of college and 30 years of hard work." This is great for the kids and I have started using this one, as it's so true in my case as well.

When I get asked this, I reply "I don't get about miles per gallon, I care about gallons per hour!" Hehe.

I get the cost question occasionally. My Response is "I have no idea, I stole it." (delivered with a smile.) Almost always gets a laugh and they move on.

The other one I like to use is "I don't know, it's my wife's car"

Just today, three boys came over when I stopped my car. I estimate their ages at around 12-13. They asked "permission" to take a picture (I said sure and also took one of them next to the car). What I found interesting was , one of the boyse asked "how much" and one of the other boys said "that car cost more than $300 Grand!". I smiled thinking, these boys showed courtesy and respect and still have beene exposed to affluence. Maybe there is still hope.Best

The nerve. I definitely would responded with, "Funny, I was going to ask you the same thing but then I figured you were born that way."

Must have been a public school teacher. No private school teacher I have known would say something like that.

If you can afford an Fcar you can probably afford private school for your kids. Best investment you can make.

If this was at a pvt school I would talk to the headmaster and if nothing was done I would change schools.

This was indeed at a private school that coincidentally has a few senior students who drive Fcars. The problem was addressed once I brought it up. Still doesn't erase the fact that it was said, in front of a 2nd grader!

Respectfully, this is not where this should be discussed. I would "drag" that person to whomever runs the place and stridently assert that anyone who represents that school , who would say such a thing in front of a 2nd grader, should be summarily dismissed. We are getting used to too much bull s...t. Best

There it is. No doubt this teacher has those kids that drive F-cars in their class that probably act like "D-bags," hence the association the teacher made with you. Classic associative negative reinforcement conditioning and being plain obnoxious.

Imagine what would happen if this genius made the commensurate comment to a parent that pulled up in junk.

I guess I would have been so flabbergasted that I would probably have not been able to say anything. But I agree with RBK on the appropriate action. Since we live in an age where we have a right not to be offended by things sexual, racial, appearancewise or (fill in the blanks), FCar owners also have a right not to be offended by ****** bags.
