The other night I randomly typed in Ferrari 308 in my local CL listings and found a set of 16 inch Compomotive TS wheels. They've been sitting for years in a garage north of boston. I just find it funny because I've been searching for these on the forums for 2 years, and they just randomly popped up on CL of all places. Wish they were 17's but they'll do since the pricing was very, very cheap :)

I plan on taking them apart and refinishing the face in a lighter silver. Also polish up the lip and order up some new wheel bolts. The only issue I have, is that she could only find one of the center caps. So if by any chance someone has a few laying around, please pm me!

I'll post up the results on this thread later this fall.

If and when you disassemble the wheels, don't lose the bolts and be very careful when you re-torque them - they will snap! --- I got lucky and found a dozen direct from Compomotive last year and I think I got all they had.

Beautiful, I'm envious! But have you fitted them to the car? It could be the way they are made, but the offset appears wrong to me for a 308 (relative to my BBS wheels which are fairly deep dish on the rears). Regardless, it sounds like the deal of the century.

Thanks guys! First thing I made sure to do was test fist them. They fit great. I know these were built to order and who ever ordered these originally was very conservative with the offset. I haven't measured them yet but it looks very close to stock at about a zero offset.

I actually think it's cooler that they are 16 personally. More unique and I personally prefer the look, although 17s look terrific as well.

I like your refinishing scheme as well - should look great. Personally I would lose the center caps which will make the wheels look bigger and more aggressive. Not a look for everyone though...

I think I have a full set of 4 wheel centers with Ferrari horsies, new in the wrap. Give me a few hours to put my hands on them and take pics for you.

I like the look of them with out the caps too but up close they look a bit odd with out them.

Wow that would be awesome! Thanks!

Started to disassemble the wheels. Interesting process. It seems they were previously painted at least twice. I have the paint stripper on them. The original finish looks great and they seemed to almost have a polished look to them. Going to play with that and see if that'll look better then repainting them silver. The lips require some wet sanding and polishing as well.

After almost exactly a year, I was able to source a set of centercaps from a shop in England. Compomotive no longer make them new. The center caps are super rare to find and crazy expensive for what they are. So those of you that have these wheels, DO NOT LOOSE THEM!

The lips have all been sanded and are ready for a mirror polish. The centers are almost ready for paint. I just need to wash them all up and sand down 2 of them. Just need to buy the new hardware.

I'll post more photos after paint and the reassembly.

Well after 2 years, I still haven't had the time to finish these. I've made progress but between a new born and starting my own company last year finding a few hours seems to be impossible.

Also looks like I may be selling the car soon. So these are going to be up for sale. Feel free to PM me if your interested. I also have all new hardware. The center faces and center caps just need to be painted and the wheels reassembled/resealed.
