Looks like it just got into the guard rail. The rain may not have been a factor. Notice that it's dry underneath the car.
Hello, There is a small article on "Zwischengas.com": Maserati Ghibli wird Opfer einer Geisterfahrerin (Blog vom 18.06.2013) | Zwischengas German: Am 16. I will try to translate: On May the 16th 2013 a woman was traveling towards Lucerne on the A8 motorway. At the height of the barrier surface Wolfort from still unexplained reasons she drove on the opposite lane. There she realized her mistake and tried to go to the left onto the emergency Lane. Another, driver tried to avoid a crash with the wrong-way driving woman. In this maneuver his Maserati Ghibli skidded and collided several times with the median barrier. The wrong-way driver, a woman at retirement age, turned on the street drove away from the accident site. A little later, however, she went the police. The crashed vehicle driver was uninjured. But his vintage car suffered a total loss, guard rails and road system were also sensitive affected. Even if you're a classic car driver acting very careful, you can get into trouble by others' mistakes. Best regards, Hendrik
Well having once in my life met a car on the motorway against traffic, I can confirm this is a scary experience and all involved should feel relieved they survived, even if their car was destroyed!
Same here!! I met an Irishman coming the wrong way down a dual carriageway in my homeland the UK, and in the end our two cars just clipped front wheels and spun around reach other rather than the more abrupt way to stop....It was the end of a very clean 944 for me, a nice everyday driver but I was very very happy to be alive that night Julian
3 people died today in France in a motorway crash, actually all the people in the 2 cars that collided, one was going the wrong way. There has to be some way to prevent that with simple systems to stop people taking the wrong exit going to motorway,,think of the metal grills when you leave the car renting parking lots preventing you from going backward or taking a car out from the entry side. Engineers it is time to think of a solution!!
That looks like it rolled. If it were a Ferrari it would get fixed. I know someone here who could probably fix that.
