Anyone in the Brotherhood going to Austin this year? Just reserved my tickets and reserved my room. Very excited, as this will be my 1st Formula Race. Tickets and Flt+Rental car+Room for 2 for 5 days was only $1400.00 Of course that is for 3 day General Admission tickets. Did it on priceline and staying about 30 miles from the track. Track tickets from Ticketmaster, best deal for tickets. Still not a bad deal I think.

Also, anyone go last year that can give some info about best places for the track would be greatly appreciated. Like things to bring or places to sit.

Something you could think about is joining the Ferrari Club of America. With that you'd get special seating, pricing on hotels, parking, BBQ, and dinner events.
It's not too late to join before then.
    Just a suggestion.

GA is the way to go IMO. Mi only used my Turn 6 seat on Friday last year, it was much more interesting to walk around and see the track for different points of view. I spent Sunday morning through the first few laps on the lawn just past the start line and then made my way to the lawn near the last turn so I could see the podium.

Many good places to sit if you have just GA. The track is long and takes alongtime to walk around as there are people everywhere before, during, and after the race.
Bring your beer drinking chair, cash, hat/umbrella. If your bringing your chair to sit, the best spots we found where turns 1 and 11. Turn 1 gets VERY crowded. Coming into turn 11 the cars are moving fast and down shifting right in front of you at high speeds as they enter turn 11. After turn 11 is the fastest part of the track and the longest straight. We found this to be the best spot. (before turn 11) Be preapred for a long lines for food or ATM. Porta Pottie/beer lines are not that bad if your on the back side of the track. Also, if you speak spanish or portugese your are in good shape. At least 50% of the people or more are not speaking English. Good times will be had. Also you will see more exotic cars in the parking lot than you have ever seen in your life. :) Enjoy

Spend practice and quali walking around exploring the track, then pick your favorite spot for the race. We chose turn 1. From there you see the grid/start/finish, turn 1 (obviously), turn 2, a little of turns 17 and 18, some pit activities (with binoculars), and the podium ceremony (with binoculars). But to get a decent spot you need to get there right when the gates open and be prepared to run. The next time I go I will get turn 1 seating and sleep late!

Me and my wife are really looking forward to this! I've downloaded all the races from this year and my wife loves watching the races with me. She's never been a gearhead but this is different, she really gets into it! We are also going to the race in St. Petersburg next year, but the F1 trip will be the highlight!
