If you keep both doors open with engine off, is the pump motor going to run for a second every few minutes?

I would say yes. If I open my drivers door 4 or 5 minutes later the pump runs for about 2 seconds. Not sure if that is because of bleed by of pressure in the pump or a programmed thing.

drivers door yes, passenger door does nothing to the F1 system.

So if you open your drivers door and leave it open your pump cycles every 4 or 5 minutes? My 430 doesnt do this, lump only cycles when the door is opened.

Here's what I have observed: If the drivers door is left open AND the key is in the ignition in the "on" position, the pump will cycle every few minutes.

I haven't left the door open -- just opened the door (pump runs for 7-8 seconds) close door, open 5 minutes later (pump runs for 2 seconds).

SCKOMS has it right. If driver door is open(ed) and key is inserted, the F1 pump will maintain system pressure in anticipation of starting the car. If key is not inserted, the pump will pressure up only when the door is first opened but will NOT maintain pressure after that.

This is useful if you’re detailing or something like that. Just leave the driver door open and key out as long as you’re working. That way the F1 system will just “rest” as long as you work.

True, when I store my cars in the winter I park them close to each other. I must enter and exit the passenger door. Then I open the drivers door ever so slightly just to engage the F1 Pump.
