    I cleared an EVAP trouble code (small evap leak) that really isn't a problem just throws that error every 4-6 months. Car drives and runs very well. After driving for 110 miles and doing two cold starts, the EV (Evap system monitor) and the 2A (Secondary Air System Monitor) still have NOT reset. I've scanned for codes after each drive and it's clear. I need to get the car to it's annual smog/state inspection. Car won't pass unless all but one monitor has been reset. What flaming hoop do I need to jump through to get EV and 2A to reset, please?

    Some codes take 20 or more "trips" to reset. A "trip" a defined is defined as a driving sequence that is long enough for all OBD2 monitors to function.

    Best way is to hook up an OBD2 scan tool and read the fault codes as well as the monitors, then erase the codes. You can also run the Freeze Frame to see what set the codes, but that is not needed for smog inspection.

    There are lots of threads on F-Chat on the scan tools; you can go with a simple adapter or go with the Innova. I have the Innova 3160 and I love it.

    I heard that some Auto Zones will scan and erase your codes for free, you may try that.

    Thanks. I do have an Innova scan tool and have cleared the code. Problem is after driving over 110 miles, two cold starts, and multiple trips/drive cycles I can't get EV and 2A to reset. I know GM published a specific set of driving parameters to perform in order to reset everything. I was hoping someone here had some info more Ferrari specific about resetting the monitors.

    OK, sorry for the misunderstanding. I know you had said that you cleared the codes, was not sure if you did it by scan tool.

    The only code I have had so far on my 360 (knock on wood) was a cam timing sensor. I was able to clear it and it has (not yet) come back.

    Sorry I can't help with the Ferrari-specific code. I do know that I did a Jeep last weekend where the owner had tried to clear the EVAP code by starting it 20 times and that did not work for them, so the "20-trip" rule is as you noted not universal. I did clear that EVAP code with my scanner.

    I know the Innova can force an EVAP test but not for our cars.

    P0442.. More then likely.. If you just clear the code and not fix the problem..the car will not go into "ready" status and store a pending fault code, or the engine light will come back on and you will fail the e-test. Have the evap system checked out. Most times a simple smoke test will find the issue rather quickly.

    Yes. It's P0442. It's cleared before and reset. I was hoping to avoid the evap detective work. I read somewhere the fuel tank had to come out to replace valves or fittings.
