I always like it when the valet lets me keep my key and holds the car up front for me. I always tip them more.

Great idea with the inconspicuous car cover. Its also great if you can lock it closed for the peace of mind.

Expensive cars getting pissed on and broken into are the norm in Rahm Emanuel's Chicago.

LOL. This is the best idea I've heard. I'll have to try this one.

Why not ? that is the best time to go in the Ferrari. The car wont melt in the dark outside the hotel room.

Well, that's not what I have under my car cover-but I agree 100% with the old dirty car cover idea. I've done it for yrs and I guess hearing this it works like a charm. Who would piss on any car?!

Many years ago I worked as a bell boy at a Marriott outside of Cleveland. We didn't have a Valet and when people would ask I would direct them to the Employee parking area. There was a camera on the employee entrance and I drove a Porsche 924 that I had just spent a fortune (for me at the time) having it repainted so I always took the end spot. Ordinarily no one parked next to me so I would give the guest the end spot and park next to them backed in so their car was on my passenger side. If they were there for a wedding or an event I would direct them to a rarely used entrance that was near the banquet rooms or if they were staying the night I'd show them how to get there from their guest room. The tips I made from that little bit of added service were outstanding.

SlowV8, this is too funny! "Expensive cars getting pissed on and broken into are the norm in Rahm Emanuel's Chicago. "

Thanks for all the response people.

Looks like the Marriott came through after some repeat conversations. They helped me setup filing a report after the fact, and also gave me reward points for a couple free stays are any Marriott, which is better than nothing.

Consensus is Park up front is possible, or use a ****ty car cover!

This 360 was parked out front at the hotel I was at a few weeks ago. For the entire time, the hotel seemed to have a security person standing near it.

When I rarely parking my GTC out of town overnight, I ask the hotel manager where the security cameras are best positioned to watch and record the car. Also tip the valet. Quite surprised some high end hotels do not have security cameras viewing 360 degrees around the property.

I try to park it in front and tip the valet well. Same with restaurants. $20 goes a long way with those guys.

    Hello All,

I will be putting all this great advice and lessons learned in practice during my road trip to Austin, TX from Columbus, OH. I'll be driving the 512TR with my friend, it's 2,500 miles round trip. I call it the 2500 Mille Milia! I am very excited about this trip. The planned FCA events will be awesome and we will be parking at the circuit during the race.

You only live once and I'm taking this opportunity!

At the last minute we decided not to take the 458 Spider to Vail and valet park it over night. Took the Pcar instead. Taking the Fcar just was not worth the risk.

I guess its an easy check but I heard that property is no longer a "Ritz".

I called the MGM casino hotel @ Foxwoods before my arrival. They let me park it right at the entrance, I just had to leave them the keys. Just weird when I left it was moved a few feet and a setting was changed. I really don't think it was taken for a ride but it was strange.

I also have to do a road trip next month after picking up my car from NY to Chicago. I was planning on "winging" where I was going to stay for the night (800 mile trip), now I'm not so sure... May be wise to find a hotel with a garage or procure a crappy car cover.
