I'm sure you will be pleased to know that I represented the brotherhood on Sunday as the only 348 at the Ferrari Owners Club meet at Prescott in the UK. There must have been over 50 beauties there ranging from a Dino to several 458's. I had 4 runs up the famous hill : Prescott Speed Hill Climb and I'm pleased to say the 348 was absolutely flawless. Composed through the corners, loads of grip and perfect for the twisty hill climb. Throughout the day there were lots of starts and stops and plenty of stationary idling but it started each and every time. What a great day! Lots of lovely people. Some photos:

I was proud on Sunday too!!! My favourite car of the day was the blue 308 (in front of me in the top picture). It sounded incredible - like they had actually installed hell under the bonnet.

Those wheels look perfect on your 348! Can you tell me what are the tire sizes?

295/35/18 on rear and 235/40/18 up front, feels amazing compared to before. They would look great on a black 348......

Ernie, there were no official timings as it wasn't supposed to be competitive as such, but I have my times from my in car video footage, which I have yet to analyse. TBH, this was my first time on the hill and didn't push it, although I am sure my times improved over the day. I will have a look and let you know my best time...

Looks like a great event James. Even though I'm a F355 guy, I too thank you for representing the overall brotherhood. You have done us proud...

I can imagine but I'm tossed between the wheel types; 360 Challenge or 348 Competizione.

I just want to see the video, forget about the times. Should be fun seeing someone else flog their car on a track instead of parking it in the living room. :)

What?, no spin-out? That's no fun!
I'd love to try that some time (on this side of the pond.)
The 348 (and the Mondial t :) ) are geared perfectly for climbing mountains!

    Great Photos.

Ok, this is embarrassing, but as requested here is some footage of the hill climb in the 348. I didn't attack the corners too hard as I had this going round in the back of my head (also at Prescott):
    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrH4KDKmFCE]Ferrari 348 Accident - YouTube[/ame]

Ernie, the clip below is my 2nd run @ 63 seconds, my 4th run was 4 seconds faster but the camera mount dropped and the footage is nothing but the back of my seat.

I've also included a few other bits and pieces from the day:

    Hope you enjoy...

Agreed - those wheels look great! :D

I'll have to remember that... one day I might be able to put it to use. :)

    All the best,

The wheels took a bit of work - went to the machine shop twice...

Unfortunately, this years Prescott Picnic coincided with the Italian Grand Prix at Monza and I took my 348 down there and to Maranello instead.

Here's a couple of pics of my 348 at Prescott a few years ago. I had never been there or done a hill climb. It was a great day and I did 14 runs up the hill - toasted the clutch!! My time gradually came down from the low 60 seconds on my first run to the low 50's by the end of the afternoon.

It was sorting the clutch on the car after Prescott that led me to do a concours rebuild on the suspension, lowered, spacers etc. I'll have to go to Prescott next year as the car has much better handing on the twisties now!

Lastly, a pic of the car at Fiorano last week.

Beautiful Clive, Yes clutches do take a beating there....luckily mine is brand new! 60 seconds on your first run - clearly braver than me!
