Nope...if points finishes et all are all exactly the same, they'll go back to either who has the biggest margin in time between 1st and 2nd over the whole season or best start positions (first seems fairer?).

Good old F1 media, never missing a chance to try and rip Alonso. People on this forum never do, either.

Even after he makes so many people look like complete idiots by teaming up with Raikkonen, they still try to bash him.

    Lame.

What are they going to say after he beats Kimi? Will they shut up? Doubt it!

I came to the same conclusion: slight edge to Fred...if he doesn't lose his cool. Then it may boil down to luck (somebody slams into one of them thru no fault of their own).

It could just be one of the best racing duels ever. and in so doing they just might give Vettel and Hami et al a run for their money. I cannot wait.

This will be pretty anti-climatic if Ferrari can't put together a car that consistently fights for poles and wins.

    I said MIGHT.

Would think 2014 would be better for the Tifosi than 2013 unless you are a Red Bull**** fanboy.

BTW: the team is called Red Bull but they have blue cars. You can't make this stuff up. LOL

I wouldn't say scared, I'd say he can be fragile around a strong team mate.

Fire and Ice, well that can produce ahead of steam so as long as it's aimed in the right direction.

Kimi you see what you get with him, so I expect no nonsense consistent driving.

Fred well I wouldn't trust him as far as I can spit, however probably the best in the business right now, so by hook or by crook I see him making good of next season, or he will jump ship. But it will take a mammoth effort by both of them to topple Vettel and his bull.

Thats if they are given a car that comes up to the mark.

I don't think scared is the right word. He may be apprehensive, only because another good driver is a resource hog...

I Love Kimi, however, everyone here knows that if it came down to one race and you had to put one man in one car you would choose Fernando Alonso. Who among us says different?

The Alonso/Hamilton dynamic was different than what should be the Alonso/Kimi relationship. Kimi is easy going. As long as Ferrari does not use him as a test driver for Alonso's next race, he will be happy.

Alonso has taken a crap car and put it on the podium. Kimi has taken an even more crappy car and also put it on the podium.

So the two will likely push each other.

I am disappointed that Kimi left Lotus. Whomever replaces him probably will not be as fast, and that means one less potential front runner. Having Lotus, Mercedes, Ferrari, run up front at least gave some credibility to F1. It was not all just Red Bull, just most of the time, but you usually thought one of the other's could win.

    Me.....(possibly..... ;))

The poll also suggests 'we' here in the peanut gallery are split on the subject; currently running at about 60/40 in favor of Fred...... However, I worded it loosely, 'who's gonna come out on top' suggests, to me at least, over the course of the season. At least that was my intention.

As to pure, single lap, pace, I still think Ice may surprise many..... He used to be the master of a quick lap or two.

FWIW, Stefano just came out and said 'all is equal, as it always has been at the start of any season at Ferrari.'

    Cheers,
    Ian

I think Alonso and Kimi are past their prime as far as raw motivation.
    Its all about motivation.
Pairing the two will up both their games.
    Enzo would be proud (finally).
PS I think Alonso wants it a bit more.

Good post, I agree about Enzo. He is for sure thinking "what took you so long?" He loved the the prickly relationships in the team. An agitator of man for sure. Well done Ferrari!

+1 about Enzo & them both upping their game.

However, I think they've both got much 'raw motivation' left. They both want at least one more title.... Badly. IMO.

FWIW, I also reckon its more Fred's 'persona' that leads many to believe he's 'hungrier' than the laid back Kimi.

Whatever, it should be fun watching..... :)

    Cheers,
    Ian

Jeez don't get so upset about it. They're giving Alonso the edge, the only other thing they're really saying is that they think he's ****** who doesn't like others who pose a threat (not exactly those words, but that's how I read it).

I've said it before, I'll say it again: LdM's and Alonso's relationship has taken a serious hit over the last few months and LdM forced Kimi upon Alonso. He has no say in it any more, and couldn't leave (unless wanting to pay many many millions to Ferrari to drive for another team).

Why are you acting like your opinion is fact?

BTW: That whole article is laced with anti-Alonso. Pretty obvious.

I'm not "upset" in fact I think it's hysterical that Alonso is teaming up with Kimi. Not only is it great for Ferrari, but it made so many people put their collective feet in their mouths.

Remember: "Alonso will never accept a strong teammate?" That was "fact" a week ago. Just like this whole Luca and Alonso have fallen out "fact" that's being passed around now.

Fact is the press knew Kimi was coming
Fact is this is, in fact, LdM taking control of team away from Fernando. Thats coming from all ends of the press.
Very much a situation where MS was shown the door. FA has been shown who's boss.

The only question is how he responds. Nothing else.

Fact: The press didn't know jack ****. They all thought Kimi to Red Bull was a sure thing 2 weeks ago.

Fact: FA never had "control" of the team in the first place. That was all just media bias made up fairy crap.

Fact: You have posted for years that FA would never race alongside a strong teammate again and that Ferrari was "Scuderia Alonso."

Fact: You could not have been more wrong.

Fact: Your post makes no sense.

...and that was one of the dumbest moves Ferrari has ever made. Kimi (luckily) copped 1 title. MS would have copped 2. That's just my opinion, though.
