Finally... after all the prototypes... here is an actual production car: [via Porsche's Twitter] Image Unavailable, Please Login
I may be mistaken but I think this year they celebrate a milestone (50 years I think) of their collaboration with Martini which explains some of that.

it is a good looking car, looking forward to seeing one in person! what a kick in the teeth to McLaren, they didn't crack the 7 minute mark with the P1 at their last outing, as they had hoped, yet on Porsche 918 has, impressive stuff!
6:57 is an exceptional time no matter how you look at it. I think now that Porsche has officially released their time for the 918, Mclaren and Ferrari will no choice but to release their's when the time comes. McLaren got close, and I'm willing to bet that the production version won't be release until they match that time of 6:57. More HP and a slower time just doesn't look good.
Didn't Porsche develop the car at the 'ring? A technical tour de force to be sure but IMHO the car's styling is dated. Not bad looking, just dated.
Really? I like it much more than the slabby look Ferrari and especially Lambo have gone with. The rear deck with the top-exit exhausts is downright exotic, and the fender curves are classic. Ferrari should hire the design team that did the 918 and get them to work on a 458 replacement.
It's all a matter of opinion....I think the 918 looks like a Ferrari 360 got it on with an Audi r8...
Porsche's 918 Spyder Shines - WSJ.com "THERE IS A small red button on the steering wheel of the 2015 Porsche PAH3.XE +0.98%918 Spyder, the company's new plug-in hybrid super sports car/Romulan war bird. Press that button if you want to set a record at the Nürburgring. Germany's idyllic cross-country road-racing circuit, the "Ring's" Nordschleife, north loop, is draped across 13 miles of forested Rhineland, with 1,000 feet of elevation changes, about 170 perfectly epic corners, and plenty of conveniently placed Armco and tire walls in case newbies misjudge the line (all the time). The place is huge, bewildering and magical. If the "Ring" isn't on your bucket list, you need a bigger bucket....................."
I have the gulf copyright lawyer contact somewhere, the colours themselves are not proprietary if the sense of just being custom mixed, but the Gulf logo in combination is It's entirely possible to cross reference the Gulf colours to parallel paint reference colour codes, then have the SW (special wish) department (or what ever they are calling it now) to paint in that combo and blank billboards You could then affix Gulf logos after for your own, thus being not infringing on copyright for personal use only "That" would be a truly one of a kind 918!
