I had a bandit car..bought it for 3500 bucks..and it was in great shape. Beat the crap out of it for a year, then I sold it for 5k. Fun car, but at the time they were considered a "dirtbag" car or a mullet machine.
They have had the license for Pagani Canada for just over 6 months now... and that model has been there since then as well. This is just the first time seeing the actual car there.
True... FOO has had a monopoly far too long on F cars in GTA, I assume shortly there will be a new F dealership built with a different owner. When you rise too high, someone will always be there to take you down. ...Its good to see some healthy competition. On another note, Pfaff is doing a great job, but something went wrong as they did not get the Porsche Oakville location.. went to PA. Its the 2nd largest Porsche dealer in NA.. not a small feat by any chance. Like I said before, there is always someone waiting to pounce on your back when you're not paying attention.
Is your name on the list? If not you're not getting one for anything close to msrp. I'd rather a hand built pagani ant day myself.
The F40 rules them all. Keep you Pagianies and your Koneggess, your McClerans, Enzos and La Ferraris and what have you. Nothing will ever surpass the F40.
No. Not by a long shot IMHO. The pagani is like a fine peice of mechanical jewelry. Every detail is simply amazing. The emblems are machined aluminum, no plastic steering column covers, every switch is a machined peice of aluminum of steel, the carbon fiber work puts anything ferrai has done to shame.. It's simply a work of sculpture in almost every way.
In 20 years time will people still be drooling over this car? I doubt it. Just another hyper car that is soon to be eclipsed by the next breed. These cars may have super attention to detail, may be able to boast records beyond what any average driver or road can handle, they maybe the best of the best but they seem to lack one important detail. A soul. When I see and hear these hyper cars nothing in my body quivers, there is no inclination to run up to it, no smile grows on my face, it's like being a straight man at a super hunk gay nude beach. Sure there are a lot of fit bodies to look at, but none of them do anything for me, yep it makes me look at my belly and say ah crap I didn't need those 5 girl guide cookies last night. Give me Elizabeth Hurley from 20 years ago, hell give her to me now. No she ain't some new pop sensation known for her sexual sexcapdes on the MTV awards, but she has class and in her day she out sexed any of the new barely legal firm but long leg plastic pin ups today. In 20 years I'll be looking at a 40 year ago Hurley and still have a smile on my face. I won't even remember who Lady GooGoo was. The F40, GTO, Testarossa, 308 GTB, Countach all have what these new cars can never capture. They have Soul.
The F40 is a great car, but what about the McLaren F1? Same league in that it's an analogue hypercar, much desired and was ahead of its time. Better performance than the F40 too, no?
McLaren F1 is definitely more collectible (valuable) due to its rarity. And it was actually more successful in motorsports than the F40. That said, when put side-by-side, the F40 is more desireable because it's so raw and agressive where the F1 is just a clinical "racing tool" .
So... If you had the Pagani and the stradale, side by side and was told to take your pick( either car was offered for free) you would choose the stradale?
A CS over a Huayra?! Wow. I realize it's FChat, but oh boy, there's some seriously strong kool-aid on this forum!
It's not about the nitty gritty performance specs, the F1 may be better on that front, both cars can probably handle more than anyone of us can deal with. The F40 was bred directly from Ferrari's F1 programme, that lineage means a lot and it's something that the F1 can not claim in the same vein. Just the fact that the F1 had a BMW engine after Honda refused and Isuzu didn't work out it feels like a bit of an orphan going from home to home until someone took him in an gave him a great education and eventually that kid grew up to be a great sports hero. The F40 was that sports hero by genetics right from the start. Something ended with the F40 when paddle shifting came out and fancy interiors with plush racing seats and fancy interiors started making their way into these newer cars. The F40 maybe one of the last true sports cars that isn't trying to be a Yorkville family car at the same time. Maybe that's why I like older cars so much. I prefer carburetors with no abs and no computers, you're more connected, that layer of computerized detachment from the ground isn't there as with new cars. The F40 has little of that.
