I wanted to sell the Merc and just keep the 220k mile Jeep as my DD but my insurance company insisted I have a car less than 4 years old.

Past decade's DDs have been various vintages of Cayennes, 911s, and MBs (70s to 00s). Replacing my current Cayenne in a couple of years is likely a Cayenne diesel or a PDK 911, depending on passenger and towing needs.

I have to say that the instant torque of electric cars are getting my attention lately. Tesla wagon under $50k?

My 1998 Chevy Tracker until one of us dies. Rain, snow, sleet, gloom of night, it never fails me. I put gas in it every three weeks whether it likes it or not.

My true DD is an Hertz car in Europe. Right now an amazing E220CDI. Prior car was a brand new S350 CDI and the previous one an ML350CDI and then the ones before a 520D and an A6 Avant 3.0TDI.

Great mileage all of them, tpically 35/39 mpg on highways (at about 90 mph) and 33+ average with a lot of city driving.

My US DDs are in "My Garage".

Exactly. Porsche is no longer an exotic IMHO... might have been in the 60's and 70's. Now 50% of each C+C are Porsches of one type or another.

2012 Genesis 3.8 Trac 6Speed. Faster, Smoother, Quicker, Corners better, Out brakes, More comfortable, Better gas mileage...Than my '71 365GTC/4. Yet somehow the C/4 holds more appeal.

In late spring, summer and fall the 458 Spider (over 10k mile in first 5 months). After that it's a Subaru Outback stick shift turbo.

    Life is good. ;)

E39 540i. I love it, which is a good thing because it won't die.

My DD is an '82 Volvo turbo that I rebuilt/restored, improved, and maintain.

I've done all the work myself: it's good therapy, and fun to boot.

Upgraded suspension, lowered, chassis stiffening, beefier cam and turbo: a very, very satisfying car, with surprisingly good handling and steering feel.

Used to be an estoril blue bmw x5 4.6is but now that my office has moved and im commuting 60 miles each way i have a 2012 base vw jetta with a manual transmission. Its no bmw but its comfy, fun, spacious, and great on gas. Doesnt look too bad either for such an inexpensive car.

    Mine's a 2004 Golf R32.

I wanted the shortest AWD car I could find with a manual transmission. After 5 years, I still haven't found anything I want more.

E55, SL550, Vespa and Honda Odyssey. I've had the E55 since 2005 and love it. The SL lease runs out in May I can't wait to get rid of it.

ML and 97 SL with 100k that nobody thinks is of any value because of the miles, but everything works, it looks great, except for the drivers seat, and I love it
