Last time MotorTrend only had a short time driving the F12 at Fiorano, now they have it at their own test facility. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txmTgLFGdRo]2014 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta: Lapping and Testing The Italian Super Tourer! - Ignition Ep. 85 - YouTube[/ame]
Disappointing beginning to the story, but seems to settle down and get better later in the article. 2014 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Exclusive First Test - Motor Trend
What a sound when that car is on full boil I am a little surprised about the performance numbers and weight of the car...it's not the 0-60 numbers of 3.6 but the 1/4 mile of 11.3 at 131 mph. I thought they would have broken into the high 10,s. The mph out of the 1/4 mile is very quick though. Where did they get 4003 lbs when Ferrari posts it's curb weight at 3593.5 lbs with weight saving options. That can't be correct. Motor trends numbers are 660 lbs heavier then the 458 they tested two years ago. Amazing car GT car...with one of the most beautiful bodies and classiest interiors.

Either the tyres were wasted or the track was at its worse. Quattroruote clocked the F12 at 10.6s for the 0-400 metres dash and the 0-100 kph (62 mph) time was 3 seconds flat. The same applies to the laptime IMHO.
Quattroroute is an Italian magazine testing Eurospec cars. Why is anyone surprised? Ferrari has consistently underreported the weights of their cars. 458 Italia came in 200lbs heavier. Nobody has yet dynoed their power claims either(always huge drivetrain loss). How come this car traps LOWER then silver US press car 458 tested by Road & Track? Anyone remember how the 458 aero numbers were hideously overstated as well? Looks like motortrend got their hands on a customer car maybe?
It seems to me that there is around a lot of people who enjoy when the ferrari performs not in line with expectations Quattroruote do not favor in any way ferrari. I have already reported the acceleration of the F12 achieved during the development that QR has only partially achieved. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142242339-post90.html Of course the truth is that the F12 weighs like a pig and on track does not go faster than a Mustang. Are you happy now ? And the 458's aero ? It could fly like a F16 of course http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142574534-post11.html Cheers Luque
Ferraris have consistently excelled in testing, even with customer cars. This one was uncharacteristically slow (well not slow per se but it had massive traction issues as they said) and I would wait for more tests.
In the real world my F12 destroys my 458, McLaren, SLS and Aventador so I can't see how this could be accurate? Corvettes and Vipers are laughable compared to the F12.
Wait . . . You have an F12 and a 458 and a McLaren and an SLS and an Aventador? Must be a hell of a garage. What is your daily driver?
Yes. Plus two other F-Cars I don't drive + two Rolls Royces and a few AMG Mercedes. I drive a Chrysler 300 to work every day. Everyone in South Florida has seen my cars.....
