    There was 2- 02 out of range and the thermocouple one on my exit. Lets see what the final result was.

    But remember the O2 connectors were on backwards for the left bank. The car started to run better after Ozzy swapped the connectors. Or were they still out of range after the swap?

    Still out of range, running better can also mean the physical 02's were on the wrong hole.

    That plug at the ECU still may be part of the issue, but dang its really close now you can taste it :)

    So, after the four O2 sensors and the three TCUs were changed out, the connectors were plugged in backwards? And the ECU 88-pin connector is messed up?

    Yes, let me echo a HUGE thank you for Vince and Barbara for hosting everyone and even letting a NorCal interloper like me into the group. The hazing was modest, at best.

    Food was amazing, beer was cold, and lots of people lending a hand. Great day all around and lots of fun meeting the SoCal crew.

    I made the drive back from LA late last night, which explains why this post is coming in late. Took a leisurely route - a lot of Hwy 1 until I got tired of passing camper vans then went East by Carmel through the Santa Lucia mountain range which then dumped me into Salinas, back onto 101 N and a cruise home. The Santa Lucia mountain pass (via Carmel Valley Road) was something I heard about from another gearhead and is an awesome drive if you have the time. Definitely bucket list stuff.

    Anyhoo, car is definitely better although still cavitating at idle given there is a miss somewhere that will need further exploration. I am down to 4 codes -- 1448, 0154, 1115 and 1119. Given I was at 9 codes Saturday morning, that's a lot of progress and I owe the stooges a lot of appreciation for the help.

    So, next steps for the 355 Spider is addressing the 1448 code which is almost certainly due to my aftermarket Maranello exhaust not having a bunge for the thermocouple probe, and then sorting through the last few codes thereafter.

    Again, huge thumbs up to Vince and Barbara. You guys were great for putting up with us and being such fabulous hosts. Can't wait for the next one!

    I'm 100% convinced these are wiring issues and all fixable with time and attention to detail. Once the 02 sensors where confirmed in the right place, a bunch of codes went away with my rewiring of that handful of grossly bad ECU pins. I bet the rest of those codes are just wires that need to be repinned. I bet you could find out exactly which wires (instead of my picking on the worst offenders) by using the wiring diagram which we did not have Saturday. We just ran out of time. I'm sure we could have got all those codes solved.

    Practice your crimps and analyze why they aren't perfect and make adjustments until you can crimp like the factory. You have plenty of those in your box to use as samples of what you "must" achieve to get your car running perfect.

    Looks like you guys on the left cost had a good time.

    Ketel, glad to here things are progressing. At least the car looks good in the picture. :D As for the thermocouple that hangs free, get a couple of radiator clamps and clamp the dam thing to the center cat somewhere. Put one clamp around the tip so the tip is in direct contact with the exhaust pipe. It will get hot that way.

    By the way, I'm still waiting for the cat ECU to arrive. I purchased a thermocouple so I can test it when I get it. I was able to find a K type thermocouple (similar to the Ferrari part Ricambi sells for $240) for $28. Doesn't have the connector on the end but that a couple of bucks.

    I am glad the majority of the codes are sorted ...

    1448, weld a bung in that exhaust, plug that t-couple in, and that is gone
    0154, check your wirings of the 3 signals into that sensor, you will find one or two bad wires.
    1115 and 1119 are no heater circuits of the upstream O2 sensors which share a common fuse. Find that fuse, or trace that signal back to the ECU

    Good progress, you are almost there.

Well damn if it isn't the lightest finest cheese cake around. Must of got, ahem, lost in the shuffle. Oh well, I'll just watch over it for now...

    So the big question was, where did it come from? Store, bakery, home made (recipe)?

    Coming in a bit late but just wanted to say a big THANKS to Vince and the Mrs. (and the cats!) for opening up their home(s) to a bunch of gear heads. Stayed much longer than the projected ejection time of 3 PM, so my wife kinda thought I was having more fun than expected, which is exactly what happened! Oh, and sorry to disappoint you, Vince, there WAS at least one F1 car there actually ;-)

    Any plans to make this an annual event Vince? The timing was bad for me this year, but I'd really like to get together with you all at some point down the road. I'd even consider volunteering my home/garages for a future Stooge get together, but I'm not sure how many folks would travel this far east. Of course we might get some Arizona F-Chatters if that was the case.

    Well, as you can imagine it is somewhat stressful for me and the wife to put these hoedowns on and I have to sort of catch her in a good mood before I spring it on her. This time was good because she knew I couldn't make Monterey or the PV concours.

    Generally, we like to do at least one in the summer and maybe a smaller event sometime in the spring. No real calendar-marking event. Bruce hosts one periodically, but when it looks like we might get more than a few stooges, it moves to my place. Peter, aka Trojanfan sort of preliminarily volunteered his place in Sherman Oaks (heh, heh, sucker) and we might do one there. Who knows? The fun is in the randomness of the event. Plus we never know what we are going to be messing with. Fluids are easy enough, brakes too. Anything else takes more concentration, less stooging about. We'll see about the next event.

    As for traveling east, well, some know I have a house in La Quinta (for now) and i have always wanted to do a driving event to it. You are halfway there, so be careful what you wish for. ;)
