Because of the electrical issues I've been experiencing, I've decided to install a voltage gauge in my F355. Has anyone already done this? Curious as to where you ran the hot wire and where you mounted the gauge.

    Thanks, Henry

I have used a cigarette lighter plug in one for a while but as usual with every electrical thing on this car even the outlet sucks and the voltmeter wobbles and looses connection so I ordered this:

0 4 Waterproof Digital Voltmeter 0 30V Blue LED Car Motor Motorcycle Panel Meter | eBay

I didn't get it yet but you can connect it to any voltage source that turns off with the car. I will use the radio since it's right there and probably just double sided tape it somewhere so I can see it.

I have a round insert-type (digital) that I had lying around from another car, so I'll probably just install that one for now. Hope that with a constant read out, I can head off any future problems before they get too bad. I disconnected the aftermarket stereo thinking that might be the culprit. Time will tell.

    Thanks Boss, Henry

I just ordered an Escort Redline radar/lasar detector and it has a voltage gauge feature.

OK so I installed a temporary plate where my stereo used to be and mounted a digital voltage gauge in there to help me monitor my car's electrical situation. Once I'm sure everything is sorted out, I'll replace the plate (cut from 18" acrylic) and cheap gauge with something a bit more Ferrari-worthy. For now however, she is running strong and pumping out a consistent 14.3 volts. I'm still a bit wary of going too far from home until I'm sure that the latest alternator rebuild and stereo removal have finally done the trick.

Henry... your voltage gauge mod looks great. That is a great idea. I have room next to my radar detector remote display modded radio delete faceplate for a voltage gauge.

Thanks Vas. As I said, I want to make a better plate and get a nicer gauge down the road, but this will get me through the first stages to ensure that everything is working the way it should be. By the way, I'll be on the east coast for a couple of weeks but I have the late October run on my calendar when I get back. Hope you guys have fun on the Hemet drive this weekend.

I picked up an Equus 6268 off of Amazon (Amazon.com: Equus 6268 Voltmeter: Automotive) .

I like yours better and it will nicely fit the radio delete plate. If I had placed the V1 remote display and inch closer to one side or another on the radio delete plate, the Equus would have fit.

Thanks for sharing. I just ordered one and will be a "copy cat" on the clean install. I also like that reverse lock out you have, can you share where you obtained it? Thanks again.

It's a Hill slick shift with the 4/5 plate removed: SG01 LOR - Slick Shift Gate by: Hill Engineering - Hill Engineering

It has saved me several times. Well worth it.

Thanks for the reply. I have the Hill gate and really like it but had never seen that lockout piece. They have great items.
