Did P 4 Staff just insult me? Does he make any sense to anyone? I think I've just found the first person I'd want to 'ignore' on here........how does that feature work????? I don't think "insecure" would be the right adjective for me, what do you think, those of you who've met me personally?
Ok, thanks, Mr. G. And thanks for sharing your car......I like it! I thought maybe you had a schedule conflict (for not attending...).
Yes Jim...English is a second language for me. But...don´t think I´m stupid...I understand more than you think. Look what this guy wrote: (Imagine how boring Lawrence Stroll's life must be...........LOL! I'll bet he says to himself........ "Why doesn't anyone pay all this attention to MY car?"..). I just don´t take such ****! (that´s evil). Best: Staff.
The only reasonable arguement to my mind is how much of a car must still exist to be considered that car. Everyone has a different opinion on this, and as far as I'm concerned no man's opinion is any more valid than another. I'm waiting to see what Ferrari has to say. As far as I am personally concerned, it is either 846 no longer exists, or Jim's car is 846. Any other choice makes absolutely no sense to me. Based on the documentation I have seen, I believe there is enough of 846 in Jim's car to call it that. Just one man's opinion....
Staffan. Just put 'BigTex' (aka Alan Leach / Bubba / Speedy308) on your Ignore list. I have just done so. It makes the threads SOOoooo much more readable - and shorter !
Staff All I meant was Alan was making a Joke. Sometimes idioms, jokes, sarcasm, etc. are hard to understand in a second language. I know I have great difficultly understanding jokes in Swedish. Best
Thanks! That's all it was........I'll be at Zupra's Cafe if ya'll need me. I apologize if I hurt anyone's feelings.
...and Paul, that's one 'l' and an 'a' in the last name..... Just like your car, close, but not the real thing! (That's sarcasm).
James...This man ...Alan...does´nt hesitate to JOKE about the fact that Lawrence Stroll has a genuine P4. As I said...I don´t tolerate such ****** language. Best: Staff.
Alan. Apologies for mis-spelling your name(s). Post corrected, and I'm about to put you back on ignore (permanently)
My car's not even close to the real thing, Alan. But then I've never pretended that it was anything else other than a replica. Hence my FerrariChat 'handle'. And I've got no reason to want to change it. (That's sarcasm).
Hey .... I've just noticed that making lots of brief worthless and non-contributary posts really helps rack up your post count. Hmmm. What thread shall I go and post some cr*p in ? (That's sarcasm too).
Well James. I´m getting a bit exhausted...Your beautiful car shall of course be let in on all exhibitions...thereby not said that I accept it as 0846. Do we understand eatch other? Best Staff.
Staffan. I'm sorry I emailed you the link to this thread. I should have known you'd end up getting stressed out ! Told you to stick to Atlas F1 (TNF) ! Best Regards, Paul.
Besides the discussion how much of a car has to be original to call it the real thing I think it is much more important for the car to have a continuous history to be accepted as 0846. Otherwise doubts will always stay. And who can blame the sceptics just as it is highly understandable that there are so many 0846 fans on this forum. To everyone his opinion. As Mr. Glickenhaus knows I was trying to find out more about the gap in 0846's history. Due to illness on my side I had to postphone my research but hope to find out more soon. Mr. Glickenhaus, when is the Historic Targa Florio scheduled? I'd love to see the car.
Yes Paul...I should have sticked to my drafting. I just hate when people (you know who) jump on an absolutely innocent. In this case...Mr. Stroll. Best: Staff.
Jim. This is a serious question for you. About your planned trip to the Historic Targa Florio: Are you planning to drive your P4 yourself, or will Nino Vaccarella be driving it ? Just thinking aloud. Your car has berlinetta (closed) bodywork. I guess it will be pretty warm (mid-80's?) over there by the middle of June. When #0846 ran in the Targa in '66 and '67, it was a Spyder. In '67, they even removed the side windows to assist with driver cooling. I know you talked about hiding some 'mini-fans' in the cockpit air ducting, to increase the airflow - and you haven't got air-con .... So are you planning to wear a 'NASCAR-style' cool suit to drive it ? P.S. I know some of your friends think you are a 'pretty cool guy' .... but in the Summer, even a mere replica like mine gets as hot as hell inside the cockpit at lower speeds. Hi I was able to drive it a bit last summer and weirdly didn't find it too hot. The cooling fans we installed also were able to keep water temp under control. Remember I'm a bit used to this having put 25K road miles on J6 which unless you're really booking you can't put on AC as it will cause it to overheat. That said I'll be able to switch off between 0846 and 002C which should cool me down. I have been told that Mr. Vaccarella will be there and he's very much looking forward to a bit of a drive as well. Remember we're both somewhat older than we were in 67 so I'm sure all of us will be stopping often for a cool drink or two. This isn't an event that I planning on setting any records more of a demo/good time. Best
That would be a very special occasion. Just like getting Phil Hill in the 156, even if it is a replica.
