Thanks for that video, Edmond. I bet that will be a great exhibition. Here are 2 that I like: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gH-QIo_N8E]Walter Röhrl im Porsche 904 Carrera GTS - Langenburg Historic 2010 / Bergrennen - YouTube[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpHi4vQNCn4]Porsche 904 GTS & Walter Röhrl - YouTube[/ame]
Like the g-meter (keys) standing straight out to the side on sharp corners in the first vid. That's the 4. The second vid is a 6... different, smoother 911 sound. Never have heard the 8.
Seat material who Knows on what was original, but being German you are probably correct. If it was Italian its any ones guess Cheers Graeme
Wow. The first video is pretty nice. The sound is awesome. I am surprised he is not wearing a helmet. Must have a high degree of self confidence After all he is WR.
Hi All Any one want to discuss originality of the car I posed on this thread 1964 Porsche 904 Carrera GTS | Paris 2014 | RM AUCTIONS Graeme
The 904 is just an awesome piece of performing sculpture and automotive history. It's absolutely beautiful and the sound is epic - particularly the 4 cylinder. IMHO it's every bit the last road racer in exactly the same way the 250 SWB is - and I agree with the earlier comment; the 904 and 250 SWB are also my favourite 2 cars - there are no other 2 cars with the beauty and pedigree of these 2, particularly ones that can be driven on the road and again IMHO from the 2 most distinguished manufacturers of sports racing cars of all time. I genuinely couldn't choose between the 2 - although the pricing might help - it depends if I was paying or not I saw the green one 904 - 045 in RM's storage facility. It's a lovely restoration the best 904 I've seen, there are a few parts that are impossible to get now (white plastic screws to hold headlamp covers down (replaced with steal), door seals, oil lines) the car has been re-trimmed but in the same material and the battery has been moved out of the passenger footwell (many cars have had this done). The Monza fuel filler cap, which I haven't seen on a 904 before, from the way it was fixed looked like it is probably done by the factory or AFN - Way to fresh from restoration though! Needs driving!
This is the classic line at every Porsche meet I have ever been to, most Porsche guys have no idea how diverse the factory offering was for any of the cars.
