+1 Prost among others expect engine failures in testing and races. Our predictions will be very interesting in relation to the results! :)

I miss the good ole engine explosions. Unreliability always added an extra bit of drama. If a car was leading there was no guarantee it would finish, unlike now. Frozen engines ruined all that because teams no longer have to push the envelope to extract maximum performance. It's all static now.

Newey's hands are somewhat tied to what Renault are doing and what Newey hasn't any control over, I personally do not believe this sits well for Red Bull. Renault are building *a* powertrain, not *the* powertrain specifically for one team or another. I would certainly believe that there is only so much information yield allowed contractually between Renault customers that Renault can yield to Red Bull that they cannot to other suppliers. Renault may call Red Bull their effort factory team, but they do not own Red Bull in any percentage therefore it is a works team only by them saying so.

At this point, Renault hasn't the capacity to allow Red Bull engineers to design specific engine maps specifically for their car. This information will be a huge advantage for teams who can, ie. Ferrari and Mercedes who probably already fully know a good amount more about their theoretical/computerized engine behavior from various maps in their chassis than any Renault customer.
