Thanks for posting the video! WOW!!!! The F12 can't be described as anything less than phenomenal!!! And mean!!! And, honestly, I'm also a fan of the Aventador. Both are staggeringly quick and beautiful! It is fun to watch, though, the decidedly more conservative looking F12 beat the spaceship Aventador. The F12 seems to never run out of power!! The Motortrend video (F12 vs. 911 vs. Corvette) shows the same unbelievable walloping by the F12 in the drag race. It is a beast!!!

it's obvious the F12 gains ground when shifting. Otherwise they are very evenly matched acceleration wise. From standstill, the 4WD Aventador will surely get the jump and the F12 will have to play catch up and catch up it will - slowly but surely.

According to Lambo, the Aventador shifts gears as fast as a double clutch (50 ms). Also, I didn't notice the Aventador losing ground during shifts, rather that the F12 was pulling ahead non-stop. You could argue about gearing though. Even from a standstill, the F12 is ahead once they reach 200 kph.

I agree. I think in the GTO version they would put in the FF's front gearbox and improve traction.

    Great video. Thanks for posting!

Amazing how the F12 pulls away from that Aventador, which itself is a ridiculously fast car.

    Here's the same F12 vs. a 458:

and vs. a 780 HP Ruf:

The sound of the F12 is intoxicating.

Amazing!! What I got most out of the videos is that the Aventador gearbox is outdated. It goes back everytime it upshifts. While in the Ruf Video you can see that they stay even through the up shifts!

DCT is the future, whether you like it or not ohh and having a Enzo derived V12 is pretty nice too!! ;-)

According to your figures, the F12 reaches 200 km/h sooner, but the Aventador is ahead.

I'm sure you have heard F1 cars shift. They shift in 20 - 25 ms. THERE IS NO WAY that Aventador is shifting in 50 ms. That is Grade A Italian Marketing!!

In theory, at 200 kph the F12 has covered the 0.2s deficit it had at the start. FOr sure though, they reach the 1/4 at the same time, after that point, the F12 pulls away.

For lackk of better evidence, we will have to take Lambo's word for it.

Very impressive, I'd have thought the aventador would pull off the win. These swedish guys have been doing great video's for a long time, nice old airstrip. I am waiting for the same match-up from the russian guys as their video's are the best. They have done the aventador but no F12. I am also interested to see the 991 TTS.
