Dude I buy just because of the paint Love that color!
Go back to the first post by Bruce, and read it again. He has the right idea. No one cares when you pull up along side of them in an Audi, or Porsche, or what ever. Do it in a Ferrari, especially with the exhaust system on the car, and the feeling you have is much different. Everyone of us who owns an F car knows that feeling. You only live once. Once you are old and grey you will probably regret the things you did not do, rather than the things you did do, that's why I bought mine. Go for it. ceb39
thank you Charles, i guess the way i said it i hit some kind of 911 nerve.this is Ferrari chat i didn't think i had to worry about hurting the feelings of the 911 guys. i should have said " having owned a 911 , i , myself, really didn't like the car".my point being, when you park a beautiful car like a 348/355 next to alot of the other choices out there, other car's styling shortcomings become even more noticeable, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, even some people like Pontiac Aztec's . oh no there i go again, now i've offended the Aztec guys.admit it guys you bought the car for the looks and attention it gets. the sound and the electrifying driving experience help too.i own a car dealership, and had had most of the cars out there, never seen anything get as much attention as the f car.
So getting my 1998 F355 in on Tuesday hopefully from Oregon to Mass.My 1st Ferrari and i cant wait.Should i warm the car up 15 minutes before i take off?How many times should i start it in the winter? It has 38800 miles on it and i have a service billfor $19k done on 38100 miles.
I get it guys and it's not a nerve...I just don't care whether people think "hey nice car" or not. I'm not buying it for them...frankly I'd prefer nobody knew or noticed and I could just enjoy nice things in peace...
There's no manufacturer of motor cars comparable to Ferrari. The look, sound, smell and the racing tradition. They make engines from liquid metal on fire...no other race team does that. The cars, all of them really are so gorgeous yet with such power. The 355 ...one of the most wonderful designs ever produced. The feeling of it at 6000 rpm, the sound of the air intakes as she gulps in air ...the smell of finely roasted quality engine oil mixed with that of top quality leather, the feeling of power thru the chassis on your spine, the incredible road holding with that massive dry sump motor so low to the ground, yet amazing comfort thru ruts and bumps...yes...maybe the steering is slightly too light...maybe.....but move your hands 10 degrees to the left and sure enuf immediately the whole car centered around the middle turns in 10 degrees...i mean audi, porsche....please.
And the attention she gets all the time every time...its a bummer...but park the 355 ...go for a bite to eat...then walk back to her....and thats the feeling that everyone else who knows man made beauty gets....u cant blame 'em.... She is Italian. Go to Italy.....they know beauty, art and aesthetic wonderment. Their sexual egos are very advanced. You have to live there to really get it. I have a 1995 GTS ...blue swaters with ivory interior and larini exhaust....i swear no matter how much i crave a 599 with 12 cylinders...i just cannot part with my 355. Have had her for 10 years Engine out soon for timing belts and maybe GCK installation..maybe. 56,000 miles Last belt change 6.5 years ago She runs perfect...never let me down Just replaced all wishbone bushes....thought she deserved that. Anyone considering buying a 355 doesn't feel it right. I never considered...from the moment i saw one in 1995 i had to have one...end of...know what i mean?
By the way.... The feeling at 6000 rpm is enormous....but...remember you still got to 8500 rpm! My lord...what....i always run out of road..... I swear the throttle pedal has 4 inches more reach in it than any other performance car. And the sound thru a tunnel with the gts roof off and the larini exhaust at 90 mph in 2nd gear.....it's unworldy.... No one say the 355 is not fast. But....the power is there over 4000 rpm...below that it's foreplay. Doesn't take long to get from 1500 to 4000 though. You ever seen the bolts that attach the wishbones on a Ferrari? The heads have a perfect, delicate, finely detailed prancing horse on them....pure sex. Nuff said Good night
hey gated , i get that too. sometimes the attention gets to be a bit much, but when you see people admiring it , it does feel good to know you drive the sexiest car out there. not to sound like a jerk, but i didnt notice until today that your r8 ( and a nice one ) was in the background of that first 335 pic.
