Well, I must say that I would. Maybe not as big as these guys, but back in my day, when I competed, I was going for the Francis Benfatto / Bob Paris / Steve Brisbois look (muscular, but symmetrical, not massively huge by any stretch).

Clearly, you can't get that big without 'roids. Unfortunately for most of these guys, they over do it, and then also take other drugs to ward off side effects (lNolvadex) and other drugs to get ripped (Lasix, Insulin...yes, I said Lasix and Insulin).

Too many guys dead now. Bodybuilding runs with Pro Wrestling and porn in terms of being littered with broken dreams and dead bodies.

No one wants to look like these over-drugged dudes of the last 25 years. The HGH abuse really put the final nail in the coffin of the hope of BB ever gaining the respect it had a slight chance for in the late 70's. One word describes these guy's -- BLOAT.

In fact, what is now the norm was a joke in 1980. At the 1980 Mr. Olympia, a much smaller Arnold was making an ill-advised comeback. In a pre-competition meeting with all the competitors during a discussion about format Arnold joked that Mike Mentzer would never win the Olympia because his stomach was too big!

causing this altercation - http://nsa32.casimages.com/img/2012/10/20/121020113701815543.jpg the irony being that today, these guy's all have pregnant-like stomachs from the crazy hormone mix they take.

Anytime you get FAR away from what is humanly possible w/o drug use you get into repulsiveness. The last time you could say that most people would want to look like a pro BB was 1980 and the smaller version of Arnold.

Ive used them at times w great effect

You have to watch your diet a lot & go heavy on the protein

But it will definitely help you build muscle, give you back lots of energy, & the ladies are very happy w the results too :)

Its funny when I go into gym, I'm near 50, & al the 20s & 30s watch me do an Incline Press w
80# dumbells & they are thinking "WTH" LOL

Just ask your Dr to prescribe you Androgel, which has testosterone

Its expensive but definitely worth it

You have to go to a specialist to get HGH though

    They work best together

I'd be careful with the current testosterone programs they are pushing and check with your doctor first.

I've read lots of scary side effects such as enlarging of the prostate and an increase chance for prostate cancer.

Risk Vs Reward outside of my range. Just too much risk of long term damage (think Armstrong), or that pesky side effect listed as "death".

Here is the deal. I have never taken steroids or anything in the family. The furthest I have gone is Creatine and it boosted me pretty well in strength, not sure about size.

I am all for protein and protein shakes and bars.

I have asked many ladies and even more girls (over 21), what physique was sexier to them. And 95% pick a brad pit from fight club over Arnold from conan.

I work out for myself, the way it makes me feel, my health, and the mental benefits from the extra circulation (study supported). I dont work out to get ladies, but it is a nice and welcome side effect.

    So why risk it?

^ agree with the above. ladies preferred look is the swimmer build or underwear model.
hgh is what causes the large square belly/midsection. it causes the internal organs to grow.
much prefer the tapered v look. thats where diet really matters.

Ha, Girls want what Guys want --- the Best

Using the extremes cited, the choice for Guys would be --> Olive Oyl or Pam Anderson. Every guy knows when he see's a guy with a better physique than his, just as every girl knows when a more beautiful woman walks into the room. That's why guy's are asking how can I build more muscle, with guy's in this thread taking illicit drugs and crazy amounts of whacky supplements to improve themselves.

If the gym were the place that most romantic decisions were made and it was filled with 20 Steeve Reeves and 1 Brad Pitt, no alpha female would choose the little ineffective beyatch that was Pitt. They want the top dog. But life is a little more complicated than a gym.

Mix physical prowess and money and that intersection is where you find, on average, the top choices. You don't have to look far to find a list of top athletes WAG's.

    You lost me somewhere.

    1. Not all women like the reduculously large man, it's quite the contrary.
    2. Not all men like the Pamela Anderson type.
    3. #1and #2 are fun to look at but not practical.
    4. You posted a link to a bunch of women I wouldn't date. So I am at a loss here. Were they pretty, sure I suppose, but generally bad examples of what I usually run with.

To each their own; beauty and "how much muscle is enough" are as subjective as Rossa Corsa Vs Rossa Sudetoa, or CS vs Scud. Never an agreement.

I never lifted for the ladies, couldn't care less. I'm married 20 years to a lovely woman, my desire is purely enjoyment. I'm a former competitive bodybuilder that also never took steroids, but used Clenbuterol before it was outlawed by the natural BB feds. I had a bad reaction to it (those pesky side effects), but when it worked, it was unreal.

I was about 190-195 lbs - ripped - 5'6". The good Lord (and my parents) blessed me with killer genetics, I'm 45 and rolled Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu up until a few years back and all the "kids" couldn't believe I was in my 40's.

I've always preferred a muscular physique. Now that I'm not rolling as much, I'm considering weight training again, because I'm not as "freaky" big as I was. My wife found an old pic of us, I can't get over how much bigger I was then, and how much I liked it.

The older you are the better it works

I have 79 as my target exit date

If I can make it to 75 or so in good shape & still shagging I'll gladly take the risk

Will check w the Dr again though

The amount of roids Ahnold & Lance were taking is WAY WAY WAY beyond what the DR would prescribe you to help decrease the toll of aging.

Lance was taking experimental roids created by the Co that sponsored him. The roids were so advanced there was no test for them cus nobody outside the Co even knew they existed.

Ahnold & the Body Builders probably take 500% + the recommended dosage

If you take the regular dosage of FDA approved drugs I imagine the downside will be much slimmer than what Ahnold & Lance faced

    You didn't understand 1 thing I posted.

    1) I used Steve Reeves for a reason, the only famous BB I know of who never used PED's. I have said all along the size of professional ped-using BB's is too extreme.

2)I made an analogy to contrast between the extreme choice of an overly scrawny Pitt from fight club and heavy version of Arnold from Conan to flat as a board Olive Oyl and surgically enhanced Pam Anderson. (but restricted to those 2 only, 95% are taking Pam)

3 + 4) HUH? I posted a link to the home page of a generic WAG site with hundreds of women. I didn't even look at the girls on the homepage. Go to any athlete's WAG site.

Subjective is a nice term, but more of a cop-out, last time I checked the girls in the miss universe contest are generally from 1 type of group and the girls I see in the local walmart from another. As to guys, most want more muscle, **including yourself**. And I don't know any who would refuse more strength. The ideal is pretty much generally accepted in both cases.

Also Ahnold was using steroids meant for Horses back in the 60s & 70s

That's a LONG ways away from Androgel that we have today

    Androgel is very effective

My trainer says there is no cycling

You can take it 3 days a week or so, maybe double up on important days

Yes I leaned out & gained muscle

You need to b on a high protein, low carb diet for it to work well

    Dr will give you dosage

You have to take A LOT more than suggested to get Roid Rage
