    I may be wrong but: in picture 21...isn't it James Dean in sunglasses with a cigarrete and
    still some grey hair from his roll as Jet Rink in "Giant".

    Fantastic; you've given me a lot to go through; Johnston was part of the "Cincinnati Gang" terrorizing the mid-west racing scene in the mid-to-late 50s with their Ferraris. Ours was one of them while it was owned by Chuck Hassan (who I think I see in two of the pics); Ebby Lunken was another member - it appears that his pit sign is in one of the shots.
