The normal sparkplug for my car should have been Champion A6GC I think.

After much reading here I decided to buy for my 512TR the NGK DCPR9EIX sparkplugs.

First question: Is this the correct plug for my 512TR ?

It is 2.2 milimeter longer than the OEM Champion plug.

Second question: is this 2.2 mm O.K. or may it damage pistons or burn a hole in them later..?

Thought so Kenco! Thanx very much for your reply....

A "technician" mentionned the "wrong plug" to me... ... I should use the Champion... (we know better...)

He said: too cold (9 instead of 8) and too long (2.2 mm); so I got worried... specially his remark about too close to the piston...

Hope to read here some more replies...

Mel, I do not know what year your 512 is so you should go to the website and confirm this, I put in a 92 512TR.

And like I said I purchased iridium for my 87 TR and my Diablo from there website using there drop down menus and have had no problems, I feel the car starts easier and runs smoother.

I have used these NGK spark plugs in my Testarossa without any problems. Those are very relliable pugs. No additional gaping is needed.

What is the differance between the plug you chose (DCPR9EIX) and the other one people use (DR8EIX). The Hex size is different and obviously the heat range. So if you got a DR9EIX then what are the two extra letters for and whats the differance besides the hex size. I checked NGK's website and they are exact;ly the same.

Actually I called NGK - they said DO NOT use that plug. The c means the size is different and the P stands for projection.

They Said Standard Plug is DR8EA or if you want Iridiums DR8EIX and that is what they recommend.
