Sorry mate, you seriously have lot the plot...Massa had a drive trough for hiting hamilton...hamilton also was penalized because he conveniently "forgot" to break for the first corner and took out both Ferraris ...if he hadn´t done that, Massa and Kimi would have one that one while taking a coffee brake, because Felipe showed he was faster than anybody else that day.

As for the clash with Coulthard in Australia, it was totaly D.C fault....and he kept crashing against people in the next races...i guess he never forgot his time at Mclaren, when Dennis instructed him to hit red cars.

    There I totally disagree:
Hamilton didn't cheat at all. In fact he gave the position back and then some. The McLaren team asked the stewards twice and they confirmed twice that they were ok with him giving back the position.[/QUOTE]

I can´t speak for the talk between team and stewards, but hamilton cut the chicane on purpose, if he hadn´t done so, he would never have been able to take the position fronm Kimi...he would have done it easely in many other places after the first corner but not at that time, not if he made the chicane instead of cuting it, and he dind´t cut it because of kimi, he deliberatly seeked contact with the Ferrari to have an excuse to cut it, just like he had done the year before at the start of the italian Gp by trowing his car against massa and than cuting the chicane to take advantage and maintain a position he had already lost..

I think I finally got your point: if the Spa and Fuji races never happened the season would look very different and had Massa still won it would have been deserved. It was his best season and he was close and eg Rosberg did less for his title.

It was the FIAs manipulations that totally turned me off and away from supporting Massa.

Also overall Hamilton is a so much better driver that Karma got it right. Besides: he would have won the title in the previous year without McLarens shenanigans

PS: right now that we are looking at yet another Vettel title a Massa (or anybody else) title would be a welcome change

How good IS Lewis? I mean, what's he done lately? Last year when MS and Nico were racing each other and they were quite competitive with each other, lots of people were saying Nico was only a mid field driver.

Now because he's competitive with Lewis, Nico's suddenly a great driver, just not quite as good as Lewis?

I don't see it. a 43 year old MS would have been WELL past his prime and was still close to Nico. (compare the results from last year when they actually both finished a race.)

Whilst Lewis is amazing at times, I haven't seen anything to prove he's really one of the greats. Button actually beat him in points one year when they were in the same team, and plenty of people on here don't rate Button at all!!!

If you cloned a driver with Lewis' brilliance and Jensen's consistency you'd have an unbeatable racer.

Well applying the same logic as yours:

    - Lewis schooled alonso in his first year in F1
    - Alonso schools Massa more or less for fun all the time
    - QED Massa Sucks (which after all, is the topic of this threads debate!)

The only thing that sucks is downforce. Ferrari needs to kidnap Newey and take him to Maranello and feed him pasta till he decides a horse is faster than a bull!

Meh.... That was political. Lewis isn't a patch on Alonso.

    Not from Horse.

The fact that Lewis was even in the same planet as Alonso in his rookie year is noteworthy and goes way beyond what politics can achieve. But that's not the point. Massa still sucks. He sucked then, he sucks more now. There is a trend of increasing suckiness in Massa that no one can deny.

You're actually on to something: I read an article stating that Bernie is concerned about F1 loosing Massa because he is a huge draw for the Brazilian GP and TV viewership.

So I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up driving one of the backmarker cars for next year.

It's already been done. Sebastian Vettel. Unfortunately some smartass in the lab added a bit of Barrichello's crying genes into the mix. ;)

Of course no South American drivers means no sponsors and tv rights from that side of the world. And guess who manages the two drivers at the centre of the market right now, Maldonado and Massa? Todt and Ecclestone have all the interests in keeping this emerging market alive, literally. ;)

He would also go punch you if he felt disrespected! I liked it when drivers would punch each other with their helmets on! HAAA Now those are the good old days!

Obviously, nothing for nothing, Haminlton's stupidity and Button's dullness had to find a new body too...

While I think it is time for Massa to go you actually just demonstrated that Massa has balls to still be competing in F1. As much as people think Hunt was a badass he left the sport because he was scared and couldn't compete.

Massa is the only driver on the grid that has actually had a close brush with death in modern F1. He's been a great team player and not whined even though he has had room to. He definitely deserves more respect than he gets

Sure - but he's still slower than pre-accident, and has had mediocre results since 2010. Team player, brush with death, deserving respect - still doesnt score the points he should have been, that Ferrari should have been getting from the other car. I'll give him respect, while welcoming Ferrari's belated decision to remove him from their car.

In this month's F-1 Magazine, it mentions that Massa has completed more laps in first place than any other place on the grid.

For a guy with his longevity, that's not a bad statistic.
