    Brotherhood, I am getting very close to pulling the trigger on a 348. Friday may be the day if not earlier. My driveway is on a hill and the road-gutter-apron transition has some good pitch changes to it. I can get in and out ok with my lowered Miata and it's front airdam and I'm pretty sure that's a 4 inches or a bit lower. The overhang is shorter than the 348 so I want to know what I'm in for at this point. It may end up at the storage garage full time if this prooves difficult. What are the dimensions of the triangle from lip, to ground, to contact patch? Or am I being crazy about this and just need to be "one with it." ;)

    You won't really know if it works until you try it. Approaching from an angle makes a big difference.

    OK thanks. That's true with the Miata too. I suppose if my neighbors would just park the Range Rover back a little further, in front of their driveway with the junk car in it :rolleyes: , I could make a better angle and see the slope more often and feel better about things. Ah well, that's one thing about New England zoning. Houses here are very close to one another but that could be because my neighborhood was the oldest "housing development" in the country. 1855 ;)

    I have a fairly steep driveway with a gutter as well John. The sideways approach is definitely the way to go. I have to back the car down too, as the front of my F355 scrapes on a direct approach. A little scraping here and there is a small price to pay for the joy you'll get from owning and driving your 348. Hope it works out.

    buy it and worry about it later. thankfully the front bumper is fiberglass as opposed to some thing flexible like many newer bumpers, small cracks are easy to repair with a little fiberglass, resin and some fresh paint. the body line above the spoiler is great as you can just paint up to it instead of the whole bumper. good luck

    Awesome! Sure, I'm cool with the small price to pay. Heard from dealer. Car was inspected for NY but is not cali spec. They all should have cats though right? I'm thinking I can take more off the bid if it's likely to fail without new ones next year.

    Absolutely have to have cats here in California. They won't even test it if it fails the visual inspection.

    Right but I'm going on basis of MA following CA. All I see on the exhaust and engine discussions is cats and cat ecu's. I'm pretty sure all us cars have cats if not the globe... My Miata was cali spec bought here new from dealer in ma with pre cat and cat back in 2000. But that is an OBD2 car and the 348 is OBD right.? I should check on the code readers too since I have one with smart phone app for obd2.
