This appears to be an OEM part but I've read that the OEM ones rust. Also this auction say it's a reproduced part, anyone know what that means? I'm in the market for a challenge grill so if anyone has any updated information on where to order I'd appreciate it, I'm open to good quality aftermarket and I'm not willing to pay $2,600 for a grill so OEM appears to be out.

My 1995 F355 Challenge has an original Challenge grill. There's no rust on it at all.

The one on eBay is a reproduction grill. There are subtle differences, but the reproduction grill is more sensibly priced and works equally as well.

Mine has some rust but I have no idea if its real Ferrari part or an aftermarket, It was on the car when I bought it.

Id like to know how to tell if mine is real or not.
Lets show them differences so we all know.

I ordered the one from eBay so we'll see how it turns out. It is the ProSport grille which I see good things about on here. So I can't wait to get it mounted.

If it rusts, its not oem. Or its been damaged.

THink these are the UK made ones and they bought them in bulk to save a bit.

I would guess too that they are the ones made by Prosport in the UK. There were problems getting the fit right during their develpment through 2010. Apparently the Prosport grilles are zinc coated against rust. I do not know of any other outfit who offer an alternative to oem.

Too many people jumped all over these aftermarket ones in the last 2 to 3 years causing the price to spiral upwards. These aftermarket grills came out for around the $700 dollar mark while the OEM ones were around $1300 to $1400 causing them to put their price way higher simply because they are OEM. This is one time that F-chat talk killed us. I remember when the aftermarkets came out and few people on here gave them glowing reports. It was only months after that the price started going up. First to 900 then to 1100 and now they are the price of the OEM ones while the OEM grill has almost doubled. And no, there is no shortage, infact there are tons of them out there but are now being held back for the higher bucks.

I'm so anxious like a little kid on Christmas, the grille is supposed to arrive today. I plan to drive it this weekend put the grille on and replace the rear pads. I've been looking at pictures of other cars with these grille's and they look so much better with them. I can't wait to see mine with it on there. I'll post my experience with the fitment after I have it installed.
