If you want t know what happened when the roles were reversed, go just a few races back from Malaysia to Brazil, where Webber nearly cost Vettel the championship...

This season is boring at least the 2nd half of the season with vettel cruise to easy victory without any challenges. People are bored seeing him winning too easy its even worst than winning too much. Then the multi-21 and the redbull is the fastest car destroying everyone easily. That's why he didn't get the recognition.

He is a brilliant driver, from year to year can see that even with fastest car still need a driver like him to win but everyone will remember how good his car is than his capability.

    Turkey 2010?

60% Vettel, 40% Webber. They where racing each other and both made mistakes.

What I find funny is that Senna is constantly heralded as the greatest, and is still loved, yet he crashed prost out multiple times...even as his teammate.

    Double standards much?

    I agree completely.

TifosiUSA, if you don't like the thread, don't read it and don't contribute to it. For a thread you think should be killed off by the moderators, you sure have posted a lot in it - you're currently the top poster with nearly twice the posts of the next contributor! It is a valid discussion that is worth having and your incessant know-it-all attitude whilst being (deliberately, I think) vague about specifics is far more an example of trolling than what you're complaining about.

    Back to the discussion...

I don't see Vettel as arrogant, but I do see him as aggressively ambitious (as all WDCs are) and that's a good thing, but he does have a few annoying mannerisms (e.g. celebratory finger, "yes, yes, thank you boys", etc.), but he is keenly aware of the history of the sport, clearly destroyed his teammate in the same car, and I see him as a deserving champion without asterisks. As David Coulthard and Michael Schumacher both said, champions can be nice guys... when they're not racing, that is. :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Can someone even prove that Vettel isn't getting the recognition he deserves? Can someone prove the whole basis for the thread? What makes you even say this?

And please...don't try to act like F-chat is the barometer for a 4x WDC.

    Good luck with that.

Many of "us" except no one talks about it except you. You feel the need to bring it up all the time, congratulations you put me on ignore. No one even knows who you are, I must be a pretty big deal to you since you follow me around in threads (at least once or twice a week) posting about how you have me on ignore like it's some kind of epic achievement.

    :D;)

Can you remember any other champion that was frequently booed on the podium after dominant race performances? He certainly has a lot of supporters, but there are people who don't give him the simple respect that a race winner and WDC deserves.

I don't know what your problem is but either lighten the tone or take it elsewhere. Enough griping and sarcasm, please.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Multi-21 and the finger, enough said. People also don't like domination, MS was able to get away with it without boos because he drove for Ferrari. People LOVE Ferrari. People don't like Red Bull - what is there to like? It's really not that hard to figure out. You want more reasons? He plopped down into the best car in 2009 and has had it ever since. People might question his ability outside of that car.

Also, it's worth noting that the media absolutely ADORES the guy, unlike Schumacher or Alonso, and have done their hardest to admonish the booing, so I would say that Vettel is getting the recognition he deserves.

People don't have to love him or even like him. But I think they should respect him... at least enough not to boo.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

A while ago, I made a prediction that Hamilton would go down as one of the greats. Well I blew that one, as much as I liked Hami and still think Alonso is the top ace out there. In time (hell right now) I believe we will realize what a fantastic driver that Vettel is and even though it may seem boring when he wins so much, the young man deserves all the accolades.

If there are personality issues, it comes down to him being very young, but in a car he is magnificent and a true champion. My 2 cents.

Hamilton is a great passer, and one of the best out there in the wet conditions.

But lately, he's just been off. I can't help but think his private life is getting in the way. he just seemed to have lost the fire.

We can´t argue with his 4 WCC but right now it´s too early to evalute Vettel´s real greatness because we only have seen him in one situation: in a winning Red Bull. For God sake we even haven´t seen him loosing, in his 2 or 3 first seasons nobody asked him to win, and since then he ALWAYS has won. If he´s a crybaby now, what´s gonna happen when things go really bad?

I think that this is the main difference between Schumacher and Vettel: yes, Schumacher was a bastard, a lot more than Vettel, and with the Ferrari he always was winning and doing that annoying jump on the podium, but people saw him loosing first, so the wins were like a "compensation" for his efforts the previous years.
