I'm going to put some high flow cats on my 348 soon and was wondering, will 100 cell cats give me a CEL if the thermal coupler and O2 sensor are installed? Would it make a difference between 100 and 200 cell as far as HP?

No CEL on a 348, even with no cats :). However i am not certain about emissions of the 100 cell, or if that is even a concern for you. The HP difference between 100 and 200 cell would be negligible. Maybe 1 to 3 hp tops?

Thanks! I've been trying to research this today and have had little success. I figured an older car like this wouldn't have a problem, since it's ODB1 system. But figured it was best to check the knowledge base here.

What about the thermal couple at the back, is that required?

Only if you want to run the thermocouples. I think the main cat thermocouples are worthwhile on a 355 ...... I put the thermocouple bungs on the 348 cats I sometimes make .... but on a 348, I do not know if they are needed to prevent a CEL.....

I am running with no thermal couple, no cat ecus and 200 cell hi flow cats in my 348, and no cells. Pass emission test with good readings.

The cats were a bargain; Magnaflow ref: 59906. Universal with metal core. They meet CARB and EPA emission requirements. I paid 230€ for a pair, however needs welding (an easy job for any workshop)
