If you have ever drained the coolant from the engine block of a 355, you know that it makes a huge mess on the floor and there is no way to catch it all. In addition to being messy, the coolant stuff is slippery as hell.

Has anyone figured out a neat solution for this messy problem? A drain valve perhaps?

    I hate fluids!
The el cheapo pump from Harbor freight includes a very small tube that can be used to get down to the bottom of the water pump and get most of the fluids. If you're really careful, you can pull a motor without any spills. I've done it once. Out of many.

I know exactly what you mean! You can buy large coolant/oil catch trays. I used one of these when I drained the block a couple of weeks ago as part of the coolant drain process. Even with the catch tray (which is on wheels and can be turned through 90 degrees without spilling the fluid) I still got a shower! But 95% of the coolant was caught in the tray.
